I have a JL 300/4 amp i hooked it up and then the low ohm light lights up, and the sound comming out of the speakers is all choppy and the low. i thought what might of been causing the problem was my speakers or RCA wires so i disconnected them to see if that was casuing the problem but it wasnt , the low ohm light still stayed lite.

what would casue for the low ohm light to light up on the JL amps?

 

Possibly incorrect wiring of your subs/speakers?
As far as I know, JL can operate down to 1 Ohm.

How did you wire your speakers to the amp?
What's the impedance on your speakers?

 

thats what i thought but then reseted the amp then tryed to turn it on wihtout speakers or RCAs hooked up.

 

So the low impedance light stays on weven when all that's hooked up to the amp is the power?

Well if the amp is new or close to new, take it back.
If you've had it for a while, this is the first time I've heard of a JL amp breaking.
