92 headunit vs 93 and up
I own a 1992 SC300 and it came with some ghetto after market tape player that I was not going to keep, so I decided to get a stock headunit, but the one I got (from a 93) doesn't plug up. 2 plugs plug in no problem, but the other 2 don't at all. So I went to the local junkyard and cut the plugs I needed and tried to match them up, but only a few wires match up and the others don't. Does anyone have the schematics to re-wire this up? Or anyone want to trade this 93 headunit for a 92?

I know it may be kinda late for this but unless you want to keep the sound system stock you'd probably be better off getting a completely new aftermarket radio/tape player/cd player. The newer models on the market will outperform the stock pioneer head unit (auio electronics have come a long way in the past 12 years) anyway. IMO that would yield a better end result than trying to splice in a non-matching stock headunit. Just a thought. I plan to remove my stock headunit (from my 1992 SC300) in the next 2 weeks in favor of a better aftermarket headunit.

That is pretty strange. I think the easiest thing for you to do is explain you situation to your local lexus dealer and see if they would be willing to make you a copy of both the '92 and '93 stereo wiring diagrams for your car. It lists all the wire colors and their function so you should be able to go from there and get it all hooked up.
I have an SC wiring diagram I can email you but I'm not sure what year it is from....
