DCM Handshake and Fob Remote Start
Not sure where to post this, but this seemed the most appropriate. I think this is applicable to more than just MY 2018 IS350.
It's been floating around a few of the sub forums here that recently, folks have lost the ability to remote start with their fob. The general consensus is some sort of DCM "handshake" reinitialization is needed. The procedure, per my service manual, is the following:
Open TIS, navigate to "Body Electrical / Smart Access / Utility / ECU Communication ID Registration / ID code box and Steering Lock", follow the on-screen prompts.
I did this and TIS reported back the handshake was successful, though it did not restore my key fob remote start capabilities.
Has anyone had this problem and fixed it with TIS? If you went to the dealer and had it fixed, did they tell you to bring all your key fobs or just one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
