2016 Remote Start?
Will the 2016 ES remote start with the key fob? I saw videos on it, but the salesman told me I had to pay for the enform service. I know the enform service is going away in Oct. All I want to be able to do is remote start it with the key fob. Is this available?
Thanks for any help.

Yes, yes and yes. When new the 2016 ES had a 12 month trial period of the Lexus Remote Start App (blue/grey icon)
and the fob would also RS when the lock button was pressed 3 times, holding the 3rd until the marker lights flashed.
After the trial it was subscripted for $249/yr ($149 for the Safety Connect + $100/yr for the Remote Start. That RS App was
phased out and replaced by the current "Lexus App" (black and silver icon) and the subscription cost was lowered to
$80/yr for the safety connect + & $80/yr for the Lexus App RS and more. Now for the bad news, all 2017 and older Lexi
that use the 3G telephone system will be "sunset" (shutdown) after Oct 31,2022. All trick, no treats.
Best solution for this is not to bother with paying for and setting up the short range (<'80) fob) when you can get any number
of nice aftermarket setup that will work better. Consider paying a bit more for the "two-way" feature that signals back to your
Remote Start fob confirming that the car actually started. Nice when the 1/4 miles range system is starting an out of sight car.
