Default Problems playing a burned CD in my SC

Any fellow forum members using burned CDs. I downloaded some songs from iTunes, burned them on a CD RW disk and tried playing it in the car. The Levinson system displayed an ERROR message. Any idea if a regular CD R disk would work? Has anyone hooked up an iPod or other MP3 player (Phatbox?). Thanks for the info.

Only CD-Rs work buddy, but they're only $1 a piece, so who cares? Make sure you close them though, or they won't play either.
Oh, and I really doubt our radio plays MP3 format, but don't know for sure. I burn my CDs from other CDs, by recording only the songs I like. This is the equivalent of having a 24-disc CD changer, instead of 6 <he he>. I use the 700mb/80min discs with no problems.

Hope this helps.

I don't have a problem with CD-Rs, but I would really like to know if it can play MP3s, although I seriously doubt it.

Don't use the label stickers and you will be OK. I had one jam in my LS because of the extra thickness. Just use a sharpie to mark the CDR, and you will be OK.

BTW, the CD changer will not recognize MP3s- just the std audio format CDs...

MP3's won't play but if you burn an audio CD with normal CD tracks it will play.

If you are having problems you need to burn the CD at a slower rate. This should fix it. Common problem for older CD Players. Burn it at 2x or 4x and start it one night before you go to bed because it takes about 2/3+ hours to burn at 2x.

$1.00 a piece? Huh? Note to self: Never shop where ELP_JC does.
You can find ads in any sunday paper for CDs for around $0.10 a piece in qty of 50 or more (after rebates). Circuit City, Office Depot, Best Buy, all sell them very cheap.

No MP3 support but you can still mix and burn your own audio CDs. Don't put stick-on labels as this makes them too thick for the 6 CD mechinism. The center console can hold a lot of CDs.

If you really are committed to MP3, or better AAC, get an iPod and a fm or cassette interface adaptor. I chose the FM module as I like to move my iPod from vehicle to vehicle. True the sound quality is slightly less than CD but the road noise makes that a moot point. It's pretty neat to have 10,000 tunes in the car.
