It works! Thanks all for posting this. I didn't know there was an option past simple lane keeping like my other vehicles. This is one step better and the LC just about auto drives the freeways. It essentially keeps me from inadvertently veering.

I’m still a little lost on how the LKA/Centering is causing you grief; I rarely even turn mine on. What is it you are doing for 70 miles that you can’t be bothered to steer your own car? And as I stated before, it was never intended to steer for you, it is a driver assistance system; someone is still supposed to be driving the car. You might as well stop pressing the brake pedal and complain that the PCS system keeps letting you rear-end people.
Long drives on a daily basis can be fatiguing.I find the honda's system very helpful and was one of the reasons I went with Honda to begin with.

openpilot and comma.ai. Make that thing drive itself pretty much. No official support because only a few people have the car but if I decide to buy one end of the year that will be my first project.

I found that getting away from run flats, fixing a bent rim and getting a perfect alignment on the 4 wheel steer mostly solved the ping-pong issue. But its still lacking in turns and with worn lane paint.

I have received the comma.ai, OpenPilot and the Giraffe couple weeks ago. Im thinking on the best way to install the stuff to give a factory look. I probably won't get around to this until Christmas time this year,

I don't "need" it but its kind of a hobby project.

Hopefully by then there will be a forum for comparing notes on autonomous driving support.

Im thinking that all the hardware is present on the 2018 LC to steer the car properly. Its just needs better "eyes" and software. Im pretty sure Lexus won't keep up with what these Open Source ADAS people are working with. Lexus' focus will be liability and safety for the widest possible audience.

My LC will never drive itself, but getting this ADAS stuff to work better will be a fun challenge as long as it doesn't get the dreaded Boeing 737 Max issue with unintended consequences. If ADAS could work as well as radar adaptive cruise, I would consider it done.

I want my LC to at least drive itself on the highway. I have been keeping an eye on comma.ai for something I can actually buy and use rather than a dev kit.

Im not sure it will ever be that. Maybe someone will take the dev kit and build / sell a hardware software kit that "just works", but there are so many cars and so few LCs on the road, Im not holding my breath, but would be nice and I would buy also it if it existed.
