Getting conflicting info about whether or not the 2023 LC-500 offers wireless CarPlay via BlueTooth or still requires a USB cable for hardwire connectivity. Anyone know for sure?

fyi, wireless carplay (and AA) is not done through bluetooth, it's wifi.

don't know if '23 has wireless carplay... i think we'd have heard if it did by now.

 

My dealer is saying that the 2023 NX, RX, and ES all have wireless CarPlay, and "believes" the LC-500 will have the same.

A support URL -- https://support.lexus.com/s/article/Apple-CarPlay-10846 -- indicates wireless CarPlay is supported for 2022 models and later.

Another article -- https://www.hotcars.com/2023-lexus-l...ever-interior/ -- says it's wireless.

Yet the "Lexus Brand Engagement Center" tells me USB cable is required...

Can't seem to get a solid answer, and I'd be shocked if other 2023 models had it but the LC did not.

I have a 2023 LC 500 (with Mark Levinson) and I have Bluetooth car play with my iPhone. Just hit the media button and it takes over my unplugged iPhone immediately. Sounds great.

 

I think you might be slightly mistaken, thats not carplay, thats just bluetooth audio

 

So I install a car2ay into the usb port to get the CarPlay wireless it works. Sometimes it glitches but pretty decent solution until some kind of software update

 

I had a wireless AliExpress CarPlay thingy for my IS 500 Launch, and it worked fine till the day I sold the car. I intend to use it in my '23 LC whenever it actually lands.

 

This has worked perfectly for me.
