"All over the map" is correct. Some are over MSRP, and some are starting to drop into 'reasonable' levels. If the S.M. goes back up, I expect to see rises in all, but then I am not s broker, or even a serious S.M. prognosticator. If so I might be much better off.
Folks u have lived thru this B4, some of you. What goes up will come down and what is down will go up. Life is a cycle nothing remains the same. There is nothing new under the sun. Its your time to live thru what comes. All of these goings on, will be conversations at the dinner table with our Grandkids, and their kids one day. And around and around it goes. Njoy the ride.

nice thoughts but some 'cycles' are worse than others. the great depression comes to mind. millions on food rations... think it couldn't happen again?
many today are more concerned about social media access than food prices, but we could see food prices go up another 50-100% or more this year and people aren't ready for that.
may not affect many of us LC500 owners much directly, but it will affect millions and many of those will be driven to crime to survive. my good friends and neighbors are moving to panama to not be here for that possibility.
It depends on your dealer, my Lexus dealer does 0 mark up no matter what, and my Ford/CDJR contact is the same way
In both cases, i print out what I want from the lexus or ford website, show it to my contact, they check to see if they can allocate it, and then I'm told to wait 2 to 12 weeks
This is for any car, F150 Raptor, Trackhawk, TX550h+, NX450h+, etc
Covid has changed many many things in this world for the long-haul.
I do not believe the dealers are going to go back to the old ways of heavily discounting vehicles.
The manufacturers will also learn some lessons here and apply them towards future production that will affect those dealers and their sales strategies.
It is a very very crappy time to have to be in the market for a vehicle (or a home) today.
The manufacturers, dealers, sales people, etc. absolutely love the market we are in right now. Customers lining up to pay list (or above) on their inventory, wait / lead times on many items and certainly "luxury" items that have been inflated in value thanks to corporate greed and demand exceeding supply. Manufacturers specifically couldn't be in a better place, they're letting their client base do the forecasting for them.
No need to put $$ in to excess inventory, just make people order what they want and wait.... The UN-American way to do things (no more I want it NOW).
This too shall pass, and markets will eventually normalize. There may be some lasting effects from COVID, supply chain, etc. (especially on your higher end items), but an equilibrium will eventually be reached.
I just helped a friend of mine whose gf needed a car after a wreck. They wanted a new Camry Hybrid. The MSRP was $33,577. The dealer wanted $7k markup but eventually "settled" for $4k over. Nuts. Toyota of Glendale CA
Hello everyone, have any of you tried buying an LC 500 within the last month or so. If you have how much are they selling them for over MSRP? and What have been some ridiculous fees you have seen?
The stealership in West Palm Beach wanted $25K OVER sticker… I politely told the manager to GFY.
I came home to Atlanta and purchased the exact same car for msrp.👍🏼
they legally cant sell over MSRP up here in canada, but this is just how riduculious the situation is for canadians:
Friend of mine got into an accident and her elantra got written off. She needs a car to work her 2 jobs to pay her insane vancouver mortgage. She tried to buy a corolla and was told to wait 4-5 MONTHS for a Corolla LE. All inbound corolla's were spoken for and the earliest (if the deal cancels) was in August. She asked all the dealers in the area (there are 5 toyota dealers in this city) and they all said the same thing. NO INVENTORY... on a corolla..... LE.
Other popular models are taking even longer. Sienna, for example, is a 2 year waitlist. She might be forced to take a Hyundai Kona as thats the only thing within her budget and they still have inventory. Yeah no doubt they have inventory, those things are garbage.
I paid 93k for my 21' with 6k miles. Coupe, no convertible.
I avoided new because I dont buy new but also because there seemed to be an abundant amount of stupid mark ups from $500-7000 per item, depending on what they labeled the mark up as. I was finding equivalent coupes for about $10-15k more. Once I called, the ""MSRP"" was no longer valid because the added **** they put on the car. Essentially trying to treat customers like they have no clue about the BS mark ups dealerships do.
Even used though, all LCs are going for about $6-10k over what they should be. Maybe we'll see prices go back down in the next year, who knows!
