Lexus announced roadmap for 100% EV today
All lexus vehicles will be 100% electric by 2030 (rollouts will happen throughout that time.)

I figured something was coming. I've been seeing the ICE LC500's strangely going up in price a lot in the last few days. I've seen cars in the price range of 115k-150k for regular LC500's
The initial talk says that the change to Electric though means an increase of price on all cars... while they try to get the costs down..
What do you guys think of the news?!

it's a reason i got my '21 lc500 almost a year ago - i figure the lc is done in '23 or '24 at the latest and regardless, v8s are simply going away.
the lc is 'slow' compared to just about any EV but i don't care. it sounds wonderful, it feels wonderful, it's fast enough and handles more than well enough for me, the vgrs/rws i have is amazing, so unless i get an offer i can't refuse, i expect to keep the lc a while.

but about lexus' announcement, i'd say that's pretty unlikely to happen in that timeframe, but good for them for putting a stake in the ground.
lexus global volume isn't huge so they should have less trouble getting enough batteries compared to the mother ship (toyota).
definitely exciting though, competition is a good thing.
my only concern about ev's in general is, are they mostly going to end up being very very similar.

The sound is what got me too. My biased hope is that after this bespoke 22 they don't make any more and that people don't buy too many of those lol.
I'm probably gonna have a few more months fun with it and then try to save the car for when my kid grows up.

100% battery EVs by 2030
Does that mean 100% of all cars will be battery electric or they will have vehicles that are 100% battery electric. Either way it doesn't align with Akio saying their strategy is a mix of technologies.
