Yep. I only put Shell in my cars, even the Hondas I have owned. I cringe when I see pics of people's new Lexuses or other luxury cars at cheap gas stations.

Imported crude for all gas stations is the exact same...all the way from storage terminals that ship to the even smaller blending terminals where it is processed into "finished motor gasoline." Only after the delivery trucks have received its "finished motor gasoline," do the different companies add a small amount of additives, (1-5% by volume), before delivering to their fueling stations. The "adpak" can be added using automation during the filling of the truck by injecting a precise dosage for thorough mixing or it can be dropped directly into the top of the tanker. In the United States, since 1995, the Clean Air Act which the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) oversees, makes it lawful that ALL petrol has to contain DCA's, (deposit control additives). DCA's act as a cleaning agent/detergent for all carburetor and fuel injected engines. Companies that advertise "Top Tier" gasolines such as Shell, Chevron, Exxon, Costco, Mobil, BP, and many others prepare additive packages that are above the minimum requirements of the EPA. Gasolines that are not labeled as such, on average, will leave up to 19% more carbon deposits...according to Consumer Reports and AAA.

Thanks for the detail on Top Tier gasoline. I have seen a lot of online content by engineers and mechanics showing the effects of these fuels versus standard gasoline and the results are dramatic. I only use premium Top Tier in my vehicles and it is great that Costco is a Top Tier provider at the most competitive price too.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I did some research on the whole top tier gasoline thing several years ago and many of the things you said reminded me of the information I read. The reason I decided to go with Shell on all my cars is because of the extra additives they use. Then I saw a Youtuber put a camera down his engine pistons and show a before-and-after comparison result of using a tank of Shell gas. When I saw how good it cleaned their engine, I was sold.

You're very welcome. There is no denying the extra additives in top tier gasoline is worth it! 👌🏾
