It’s three presses of the lock button. Two presses then press and hold on the third. To stop the car, press and hold the lock button.

Unfortunately the car shuts off when you open the door which is RIDICULOUS.

One of my biggest pet peeves with Toyota! I would love to hear their explanation for programming their vehicles this way.

yes, so it's good for cooling off the car, but annoying you have to restart it when you get in.

Yep. Every Push Button Start Toyota/Lexus does the same engine shut down after a door is open. I have a Viper Alarm/Remote start installed in my '17 ES350 and the engine shuts down when a door open (not the trunk though) My wife's old RX350 (WO push start) does not shut down after doors open.
