Default Shifting from Manual to Drive

Has anyone figured out how to shift from manual mode back to drive. When i try to go from manual to drive it goes into neutral and then it is awkward getting it back into drive. I have looked through the owner manual but the topic does not seem to be covered.

Just move the shifter left then down, like you would normally do when first starting out. Do it in one fluid motion. It works while moving at any speed or when stopped, no difference.

Easy Peasy -

I've never even engaged the manual mode. I haven't read the manual on it, but what's the point? If i use the paddle shifters in drive, isn't that also manual mode?

If you use the paddles in drive mode the transmission does indeed go into manual mode but it does not stay in manual mode, as soon as you stop it automatically goes back to drive mode. I mostly like/prefer manual mode, but there are time when i hit traffic that i just want to go back to drive.

Also if you're in Auto mode and you don't put it in manual mode with the shifter but do pull the paddles so it goes into semi-auto mode, you can then hold down the right paddle for it to go back to full auto

Long-hold the right paddle shifter, will return to Drive from any gear.

You really want to try the manual mode. Much more “racy”, much better noises.
