Default Ppf/ceramic being done...

I pick up the car on Monday... a little anxious but excited.
leaving my baby at a place i'd never been to was interesting, but good for me to let go now and then.
place came recommended and they've done a few LCs.
this is the first car i've ever had this done to. I'm not even a car cleaning freak at all, but i'm doing this to lessen bug/stone damage and hopefully the car's easier to clean for a while.

I think you will be happy getting this done as it is a big help, especially if you intend to keep the LC for a long time, - BUT - Geez Louise, 'anxious' ???? It's just a car. You're not dropping your first born off for her first day at college or similar.

My WHITE LC hasn't been washed in 3 weeks. I just gave her a quick wipedown and boy do I lovvvve that ceramic. All of the dirt just wiped right off!

You're going to love it!!!!

ANd yes.....it's just a car. I do not understand the whole separation anxiety, either. LoL

Bitka you are going to fall in love again. She is going to look wet and the cleaning will be so easy. I plan on having the rims and the barrels of the rims coated, along with the Calipers. Great technology for sure. Njoy.
Finally Got Magoo out of storage and her new crib, a garage, is almost complete. Garage door goes up tomorrow Monday. Im excited, weather here in the N.E looking good finally.

I dropped mine off to the detailer on Saturday and hopefully it will be done by Thursday. Will give you all more specifics once I get it back but I’m really looking forward to the ease of maintenance with ceramic coating (painted surfaces and calipers/wheels), as well as window tinting (this is the first car I’ve ever window tinted but the IR & UV rejection will be immensely helpful to me here in Florida). I don’t have vehicle separation anxiety but I am looking forward to seeing it again with the windows tinted and the wet/glossy paint finish.

I got the 5yr warranty (2coats). I expect the shop will do the paint correction (fancy word for polishing) removing the swirls, enhance color depth, and the ceramic would just lock them down and make it look slippery! Be careful, you may even shave off a tenth of a second.

Another big benefit is after wash, the water bead up so good that I just take a blower and blow the water off. Makes the drying easier and fun to watch.

thanks. i wrote a little anxious. maybe yours is 'just a car' to you, and yes of course it's "just" a car, but for me it was a major purchase, and leaving it with people i don't know, for a 'treatment' i've never had done, for a non-trivial amount of money, yeah, a little anxious, but i also know the chances of anything 'bad' happening are very low.

You're not dropping your first born off for her first day at college or similar.
maybe it's because i didn't have any rug rats.

at least i don't refer to my car as "she" or "her"

We are all looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Hopefully your shop will show you the water beading properties on your car before you leave!

ha, thanks. He didn't have time to do that, he had to be somewhere else, but he explained what was done.

for ppf i had bumper, hood, about 6" or so of the cf roof, mirrors (the xpel kit is 5 pieces just for each mirror i believe he said!) - the tiny pieces for the lights are insane too. I also had the cf sills done and i guess there's no 'kit' for that and he saw the sills are part shiny (where it says lexus) and part matte, so he used both glossy and matte xpel pieces to do the sills... quality work there!

I think he said mine was the 4th LC he's done which was one of the reasons i picked this guy, plus he came recommended by CL user Limitless2 (thanks!).

Since jacksonville isn't that close to where i live (2 hour drive) and since i didn't want to have to make 3 round trips (2 cars up to drop mine off, 1 back, 1 up to pick up car, 2 back), decided to make a weekend away of it on the nearby beach, dropped the car off friday, and picked up this morning. Worked out well and nice that detailer (360detail.com) was willing to do it on the weekend. Super nice guy, works in a shop by some other name (fire something) and I guess he's getting work on the side or owns both businesses I didn't ask.

Anyway, i got the car home and since it's 100+ miles had some nice bugs on the front. So light wash on ppf'ed areas and rinse over and sure, i could see the major beading. Tried drying with my leaf blower to get water off, but i found that's pretty tedious and only goes so far, atlhough it works wonders on the wheels. Light microfiber towel dry off, and looks GREAT.

Sorry, don't have a pic yet. But will very soon.

Nice Bitkahuna, good investment for sure. When it comes to ceramic its all in the prep. Njoy! Those bugs should come right off.
