Default CD player question

My CD player "track list" lights up only occasionally when I put in CD. It will stay on and go off periodically and varies with different CDs.

Wondering how other members who use CD have found "track list" to function.

I know CDs are considered old technology today but they do have excellent sound quality. I remember buying 45 records and was thrilled

when the 1st 8-track tape players came out. FM radio was a new innovation. I do enjoy a lot of modern technology but come from bygone era.

it may depend on the data on the cd; newer cd's sometime display the song title, length, etc while older cd's lack this feature

haha...I actually have purchased an extensive collection of CDs over the past couple years. I do this so I can load them into my MacBook as lossless files to keep on my iPhone—I understand and appreciate the best sound quality.

I rock Marantz with 4 Parasound amps in my home.

LC911JEFF - i'd not used the CD player in my LC so decided to go in the garage and have a listen, then thought, what the hell, go for a drive!

i grabbed Jean-Michel Jarre's "AERO" CD for the test as i know it to be very good audio quality (and of course i like it).

anyway, just for you guys i captured a bit and the car sound too, ha.

it's a stress reliever, puts a smile on your face, and fun to realize cd's are actually still pretty great.

My CD player is broken, is there anyway to disable it from the list of media options? Furthermore, can I skip other options like Pandora, A/V, etc? As soon as I get in the car, it tries the CD, then I wait till it errors, then I have to cycle around thru 6 choices till I get to FM. It used to just default to FM, but now! Argh
