Default Perf/DH package or not? And seats...

has anyone driven an LC with and without the performance package and can tell the differences beyond 'specs'?

has anyone got the alcantera seats and regreted it (maybe because they're too grippy or their OCD doesn't like the 'marks' it leaves like suede )?

also, not sure if i'm reading right but the 'sport' seats are 8 way adjustable and non-sport are 10 way, is that right? What 2 are missing off sport seats?

I suspect that the seats will be the biggest difference that you will notice on a daily basis. If your a “full grown” guy like me the sports seats will dig into your sides more than the full leather. I’m sure that the LSD is great on the track but I can’t imagine that you would have the opportunity to really use it daily. Since I can’t offer first hand experience with the performance package then I’m probably just wasting your time posting 😀

The only thing I noticed between the two on test drives, was a snappy lower speed left hand turn onto a freeway ramp, caused the touring model to slightly bump out its rear end.

The LSD is an option with the Touring Package. I have it and would not have bought my LC without it However the Performance, now dubbed the Dynamic Handling Package contains other things. Rear Wheel steering and Variable Ratio steering. I'd pass on the RW steering but would like to have the VR steering. RW steering, in my mind just adds a level of complexity that I'd just as soon avoid. I would, however, enjoy the benefits of a faster ratio steering, though I find the steering in my LC to be pretty precise.

As far os overall handling, with the Drive Mode set to Sport, handling is darn good IMHO. I drive in Custom mode with engine Performance set to Normal and chassis set to Sport. Also the wheel size and tire type would affect handling.
