Is there any risk with sporting a 22" in rear and a 21" in the front if the tires keep the vehicle at the same running height? is there a good source to calculate this so that I can be doubly sure?

You trying to run one of those quad rear tire setups (duelies) so often seen on LCs these days?? - hahahaha
Seriously now - absolutely no issue. Just look at the outside diameter of the tires that you put on the wheels. That will tell you if they are the same height or not.
^^^^This - As long as the OD of the tire/wheel combo is the same, you will be fine.
But, why would you want to do this
Lou
The main reason is that as I have pushed to wider wheels, the tire selection is more limited unless I line up the widths more. So splitting the front and back allows me an aggressive looking build. But keeping the car level is important.
so why dont you just use 3 different sized tires then ? that will refine your adaptation of an otherwise perfect car into something well, unique, and special....

Well that was quick figuring out who the smartass of the message board is. Thanks for all the work and effort you do to make humor that only you enjoy, I am sure you are quite proud and for that I am proud of you.

I was suggested a 255/40/21 --- 285/30/22 for the tire size, but looking at the calculator, I almost match up perfectly with a 245/40/21 --- 285/30/22 or 255/40/21 --- 295/30/22
The 255 and 295 combo seem to fall in the ideal fit range for the rim size and line up better. So then this should be the fit I am looking for I take it?
^^^^OK - 255/40/21 and 295/35/21 are the correct after market sizes for third party wheels wide enough to accept them. With that in mind I would not stagger the wheel diameters. I am running the 255/295 combo:
