I have never owned a car with run-flats.

My LC had RFTs on my trip home from Nebraska. As soon as I got my wheels, off they came

I too not to keen with run-flats. I take my LC on long overnight trips (i.e. my trips are at least 10 hrs long and sometime 23 hrs) so having run-flats and without a spare is not a practical proposition. I would hate to have a flat 2am in the morning on a dark secondary highway. I was thinking of getting a cheap rim and a tire and a wheel bag and put it in the backseat whenever i go on trips. I could also temporarily leave it at friends' or relatives' house when i get there to give the backseat "a break."

I have had two RFT replaced, both due to potholes crushing the bead of the tire. I guess that might have saved the rims but luckily the dealers had a replacement on hand. Word to the wise, don’t drive through Indianapolis although the Lexus dealer is excellent

If you have a flat at 2 a.m. on a dark secondary road, a run flat is exactly what you'd want to have. It will carry you 50, 75 or even more miles to a safe place and then to a dealer or tire store.

Is there a reason you don't have AAA and/or towing on your insurance?

ANd what about Lexus's Road Side assistance?
to quote a presidential candidate "C'mon man" do you seriously think Im talking about getting a flat under ideal conditions where can just get on my AAA app and schedule a pick-up? Do I really have to spell it out? XTORQUE seems to get it.
