Thinking of getting an LC500 with or without Performance PKG
Guys
I about a year away from getting an LC and I notice
most used LC rarely come with the performance package
with the active spoiler. Does your LC come PPKG?
Is if worth the extra to look for one with the Performance
PKG ? Is the Active spoiler really going to go up often
during freeway speed ?
Love the infrared, ultra white and atomic silver
probably end up getting a low mileage 2019
Finally , had a black SC years ago and don’t want
to deal with the Swirls anymore . Do you guys have
Any car wash swirls coming from the Infrared and
atomic silver ? White is never a problem
When I bought my LC I traded in my 2016 Vette. I wanted quiet and smooth. And if I remember right, the seats were too firm. So I opted out of the perf package and went with touring.
My choice was the Touring package because I did not want Alcantara seats. The seats in the Touring package are leather with the fronts being semi-aniline leather. I also have the carbon fiber rear spoiler, an option.
As far as the seats are concerned, it's really a question of preference. In material and shape, both choices are quite the opposite from eachother. For me, a snug, contoured seat is a must for spirited driving and the Touring seat just didn't hold me in place properly. Some of the ''American size'' people would argue that the Touring version is easier for ingress/outgress and overall comfort. The seats in my Aventador have set ''my'' standard for automotive seating, as others struggle to match it.
^^^^I'm not a large person by any means - 5' 7", less than 160lbs. The Touring Seats are snug and hold me quite well without the upper "wings" of the Sport Seats getting in the way. But, as you say PREFERENCE!
Example - RCF has a $5,500 performance package which is a CF roof, spoiler and torque vectoring diff. MSRP on it is hard to justify being $6,000 extra post-tax but OP is buying used so when two comparable cars depreciate, a PP car might be worth $42,000 when a non-PP is $39-40k and due to depreciation that feature is now a toss-up decision based on as little as $2,000 (I would personally pay $2k all day for PP when compared to $6k)
Same goes for the LC. Idek the PP price on the LC I assume it's more, so same scenario but it may be a $3-4k price difference when it's said and done.

perf package actually $5K more than sport package with cf roof and cf door sills, so what's in it for that... fancier steering (VGRS and rear steer), and the wing. yes, $5K's a lot for those things and i have no idea how different or better they make the car having never driven either!
i have seen some write-ups / reviews saying the perf package is definitely worth it though, and sure, a smaller delta on a used one probably makes it an easier decision.
i've also read the perf package on the early ones did have issue on some with the wing 'thumping' when going up and down (which happens while driving as speed goes up and down), which has apparently been fixed now.
the LC is not a small car though and the rear steer should make slow turning easier (tighter) as well as less lean in faster speed turning.
the wing is probably worthless unless you're on the autobahn! looks cool though
OK - Let's straighten all this out. First off these are the Packages offered in the LC and the equipment offered with each:
The difference in pricing between the Sport Package with the CF Roof to the Dynamic Handling Package (MSRP) is ($3,920 - $9,570) or $5,650. CF door sills are $600.
IMO the biggest cost factor is the RW Steering. I've posted this before, again IMO, I'd just as soon not have that option due to the complexity and upkeep. For it to function properly and not eat up tires, it must be kept perfectly aligned. Just not worth it to me. But, the Variable Ratio steering would appeal to me, but it's not a stand alone option However, again IMO, the standard steering box is pretty tight & precise.
As far as the door sills. The CF ones are prone to scuffing. The standard sills look fine to me and they are serviceable

thanks lou. it appears though that the sport package does not include the 21" rims. that's an additional $2650 (which is included in the 9570 perf pkg).
so yes, with the sills, the diff is $5050 - $2650 or just $2400.
I went with the performance package because im not going to spend that kind of money and then stop short. I've driven all trims and if I couldn't have the perf pack then I wouldn't even want the car. Rear wheel steering alone was worth the upgrade for me.
Someone mentioned CF sills scuffing. 100 bucks(50 for each sill) for expel PPF solves that real quick and they look beautiful.
Just my opinion
