I think all coupes depreciation horrible....unless your getting a high end one. I have lost so much money on trade in's.
I honestly tried my best to like the LC but I just couldn't pull the trigger. All my adult life I had a luxury coupe so I guess I found the car boring except the exhaust. As soon I hopped in the Porsche I knew I was in a real sports car. The way the PDK shifts at redline. Amazing. As much as I love Lexus for their reliable. Porsche is just on a different level when it comes to coupes.
If your look for reliable and luxury go Lexus. If your looking for performance and excitement....Porsche all the way.

Reason: grammar
^^^^^^ As you said, Porsche is just on a different level, which doesn't mean a better level. I also owned a Carrara 4s and a Targa 4S over the years, they were both higher performance coupes that couldn't be categorized as a Grand Tourer. The exotic shape of the LC has thrown too many people's expectations off of what it's true intented purpose was. Unlike the LC, exclusivity is another aspect (important for some but not for others) that the 911's have completely lost over the years. Different cars for different folks.

It does mean on a better level. The LC can't compete with most Porsche's on an performance level. I can take my Porsche to the track and commute to work with no issues..
If you want stand out purchase a Lambo or Ferrari.
While I find the LC beautiful...I still find my dream cars. The old SC400 and NSX to be my favorite cars of all time. As far as exclusivity...I guess it depends on where you live. On my 45 minute commute to work I rarely see a 911 or LC. I also give props to the LC on the interior. It's not for everyone but I love it.

I owned a 1991 NSX and a 1993 SC400, I sold my LC 500 Performance Package for a 991.2 Porsche GT3 with a manual transmission.
Test drove one in Memphis, nice white/red combo, been on the showroom floor for months with not much interest. They have 2 deposits on the convertible coming out and interest from 3 other well heeled customers. I think the coming convertible is a big influence, I can't name a car that has more appeal for the convertible versus the coupe than I can the LC500.

Scottsdale dealer here said all 4 convertibles have non-refundable deposits and are slated to arrive in December.

I have said before that the swooping slope of the LC roof rearward is a significant part of its aesthetic appeal. No doubt the vert will be pretty too, but I wonder if it will lose some of that iconic appeal. And then look more generic.
