Default Brake squeaking continues after switch

Hi all, I posted last year about how my '18 LC was having terrible squeaking from the brakes that came stock on the vehicle. I actually purchased Tom's Brake pads from the advice of a few people here.

Well, things went great for awhile. No sounds at all. No brake dust after the switch. However, after 3-4 months, the squeaking started to happen again. It seems like it has progressively gotten worse. It almost always happens when I'm driving under 30mph and come to a casual stop. Just a long, very noticeable squealing. It almost makes city driving just horrendous. It doesn't seem to happen as bad when I'm driving faster though and I need to brake a little more aggressively.

So... Tom's pads didn't solve the problem. I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing. Has anyone tried other brake pads? I just have no clue how to fix this problem once and for all. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yep, factory replacement pads do the job just fine and replaced at no charge in my case.

You should take it to the dealer and ask if your rotors are glazed. I would think it would be covered under warranty.

I replied below, my guess is your rotors are glazed and I would take it to the dealer and have them replace the pads and rotors under warranty. Did they turn or replace the rotors when you changed pads?

Thanks for the responses. No they did not replace the rotors at that time. I am going to follow this advice here and take it in this week.

Just throwing this out there... I've had gravel get stuck inside the heat shields more than once. Very loud, usually at lower speeds. Some people confuse this with pad vibration squeal. Probably not the issue in this case, but good to keep in mind. The heat shields are huge and rocks get trapped in there pretty easily. Both times it happened to me, I had to remove the wheel and remove the rock with needle nose pliers. Anyway - definitely try the Lexus TSB pads. No cost. No noise. No dust. But remember to bring your original stock pads! Lexus wants those back to do the TSB.

Craig,

if i was a servicing dealer, i wouldn't provide warranty support for the OP . he changed the brake pads , they will not swap them with new OEM low noise ones nor work on the rotors. however there is a good will aspect that's possible. Looking forward to hearing the outcome.

I agree about the goodwill, I haven't received much goodwill from Lexus or my dealership. I'm dealing with the fuel pump recall and they want me to find my way to the dealership for a rental car and don't have room to store my vehicle. I live 120 miles each direction from my dealer. I'm waiting to hear back from Lexus now. My dealership wasn't very nice to deal with when I had the first fuel pumps recall with my LC 500 Performance Package. They wanted me to find my way to the dealership for a rental car and when the parts came in, drive the rental to the dealership and find my way home. They wouldn't even pick me up at the airport if I rode the airport shuttle at my expense. I've owned 9 new Lexus vehicles, 8 from this dealership.

Nah, I'm purchasing the new pads on my own... Not even wasting time with the dealership. I knew what I was getting into when I got these Tom's pads. Unfortunately, they didn't work for me. I'll be paying for all of this out of pocket.
