2018 Glass roof

Just wanted to document this issue.
I didn't see any threads referencing this similar noise.

Appears to happen constantly in the cold when going
over bumps.

Left of head in roof. sounds like a balloon squeak can
be simulated by rubbing rubber on glass or a nylon screw moving.

I suspect a lube of the rubber would resolve the issue, however
the shop has decided to replace the glass and prob surrounding rubber.

yes i read the entire thread. it sounded like a tapping not a balloon squeak.
it was tough to record the noise due to compression perhaps the same sound.
dunno.

Mine makes the same exact sound. especially when I go over uneven road.

 

1st Gen problems, glad its not just me (brand new bits all over, only the engine is proven)

hopefully with 2019,2020 model year they upgraded some of these parts that are responsible for this noise.

Anchaf3, I don't mind a knock, click here and there, but the squeak is really bad with the roads in NJ.

Service said two days for the install, I cant see it taking that long but hey take your time do a good job,
these cars don't show up in service every day.

They also tracked down a nasty knock turned out the be the brace under the rear seat.

stands to reason stiffing up the chassis will only make the weakest link to make noise. If anybody
has been in a stiffer chassis please comment.

Glass replaced squeak has stopped.

if you encounter this problem a reseal should work.
but you run the risk of cracking the glass on removal
