Whenever I back out of the driveway, I go at an angle so the right rear tire touches the street first, I here an instat cracking noise from what sound like the roof. I'm not sure what it is. It just started making the Noise about one month ago. Any ideas? 07 IS350 with 26,011 miles BONE STOCK. Could it have something to do with the repair they did on the scratched roof when the bike flew up over the car ruining the hood, windshield and part of the roof (last year that happened). Thanks!

 

I get the same crack and all my friends and family have it (g37s, s2000, e93 335i) when we angel out of the driveway and stuff. I believe it comes from near the trunk it's like a big thumping sound right? Whenever you angel it and your cars not fully on the ground, like uneven, it makes that sound. At least in my case. I heard it was normal but we are all dropped on coils/springs.

 

Open the sunroof next time and see if you still hear the noise.

I did hear for a while another noise when backing out, more of a squeak and it turns out that the spair tire was loose in the trunk. I would get out an lush in the driver rear side of the trunk and Sqeak squeak squeak, by it was the looks spain. I don't need
To do any arronds to day but when I drive the car next I'll open the roof.

I hear it too over bumps.. it comes from the sunroof and it sounds like metal hitting metal... BLANG

 

i have this noise when my sunroof is open completely ....
so i just open my sunroof not to end of it... a little closer than full open...
so it stop noising...
