Thanks for the correction. Still they are only available to us, that way, as DVD-A or blueray, if you’re lucky to find it. And just as stereo for us in a car.

True. And that’s the problem for those desiring true surround in a car. It will take high demand before it’s available.

for true surround in a moving auto, you need speakers mounted outside, in the front, facing the rear
- you'll be able to hear yourself coming

I have a solution..... TURN OFF THE DAM AUDIO AND DRIVE!!! S+ and turn off all nanny's and enjoy the symphony that is that exhaust note! If you purchased you LC500 for the sound system... feel bad that ts not living up to your expectation (not really if thats not panfully obvious). Flame away if you must as I wont be reading this thread anymore, makes me nauseous... Just sayin.

The Porsche has the exhaust, but can’t hear the music, lol....LC500 is gorgeous and much quieter....perfect for both...off exhaust....on music...pretty simple. You can have your cake and eat it too.

Default Subwoofer Distortion

My new 2021 LC 500 Convertible has the upgraded Mark Levinson sound system. Been noticing bass distortion for most songs that have a fair amount of bass. Coming from the speaker between the rear seats. I prefer the bass up to at least 3rd to max or higher. Last few AMG's I have had didn't seem to have this issue. Wondering if others are experiencing the same or if the subwoofer may be damaged?

I get it a bit too. I listen to mostly EDM at Volumes 35-40, bass is literally maxed out.

not enough low end on the ML, for sure.

it’s adequate though for how inexpensive the upgrade is. It definitely ain’t a $4,600 Burmester upgrade!

Thanks 355F1. Kind of disappointed to hear that might be "normal". One of my fav hobbies is driving around town topless (clean mind now..lol) bumpin. So you don't think its worth having Lexus service look at it? Or a after market shop?

agreed the ML is only so-so. the man "Mark Levinson" has nothing to do with it any longer though, i believe ML is part of Harmon / Samsung now?

Agreed.

This isn't a 'bumpin' car.

Replacing the subwoofer was the first modification that I made to my LC. Used the following components all hidden in a custom enclosure. Effectively making a small trunk even smaller but worth it in my opinion. The LC2i includes a volume control that is mounted under the steering wheel. It won’t impress any 17 year old bass head but it is a substantial improvement over the factory sub

UPDATE....I just had my 5k mile service. While it was in the shop I had them look (and listen) to this subwoofer issue. They agreed it is "rattling" and that they had one other LC500 convert complain of the same issue. They determined the cover on sub is making the "rattling" sound. Apparently it doesn't happen on the non-convert. They ordered another part to see if that helps. Also offering to try to insulate it with some materials to see if that resolves the issue. If I leave the cover off it sounds great. Obviously not a long-term solution.
