Hmmm......

Got a reply back from LEXUS NA today:

Thank you for contacting Lexus about the structural blue paint on the 2021 LC 500 Inspiration Series.

We have conducted research on your behalf and confirmed that you can use the Paint protection film by 3M from the Lexus accessory line on your 2021 LC 500 Inspiration Series.

Isn't ceramic on the film like double painting something? Seems excessive. Love the car, but it IS a car, driving is intended.

I ppf my whole car, suntek reaction (has ceramic coating already on the film). Best investment I ever spent. I think it was $4000 for the whole car. The first week I had it, something had hit my hood and ripped off a tiny small piece of the film. If the filmed saved one stone chip, it was worth the $4k.

It’s not. PPF is actually pretty sticky to the touch. The ceramic coat will make it slick and make car washing a breeze. Everything will just slides off.
my GSF is full body PPF and ceramic coated. Car washing is a joy to do and every now and then I spray on Reload to make it even more hydrophobic. Full body PPF and ceramic is the way to go if you value your car and like to keep it clean.

Just sent out two RFQs for full body PPF and ceramic coating here in Austin TX. Will report back what they quote me.

Got quoted $6,500 for full body XPEL PPF but 10% off since it's the first 2022 LC they have done. So $5,850. 3 year ceramic coating discounted from $800 to $500. And $250 for ceramic on the face of the wheels. From one of the best reviewed and nicest places here in Austin, TX.

I'm not connected with this company in any way.
