Default Is the LC selling?

Coming from numerous first model year car launches (currently the first model year of the F-Type Coupe), I am hoping to purchase a LC500H. Using a similar approach for other first model year cars, searching the US for available LC's available, over 150 LC models including 15 LC500H were returned. In comparison, when searching for the F-Type during 1-2 months of launch, less than 30 models were returned.

Realize some of these are pre-sold, but the all the dealers I have contacted had the car in stock and not sold. All of the dealers were quoting pricing OVER MSRP. Given the supply, this doesn't seem to be justified. I have never paid over MSRP for a first year model car, all purchased within the first 1 - 2 months of release (and not ordered beforehand).

Am I delusional or are the dealers creating a false sense of demand for the LC500 that really doesn't exist?

Not sure about the artificial demand aspect however, my local dealership did sell out of all of their allotted LCs. I was hoping to grab one of them but most went to pre-orders and the remaining sold within days of arrival. I'm hoping to get the opportunity to test drive one by the end of the month as I have some concerns around the LCs performance orientated acceleration at lower speeds.

All LC's in the Toronto market are sold out. I was told the next available purchase will be June 2018 and it will be a 19 model. All the allocations are gone.

The two regions I frequent are sold out their allocations. And dealers in Japan were oversold by 36x.

Lexuslcl: My local dealer has one that was ordered and wasn't bought. It's Caviar with a black interior and has the Touring Pkg. Asking MSRP but nothing over.

26 show available in my area in TX. Sewell shows 18 in their stock alone. But they do appear to be moving some.

Is your dealer asking over MSRP? Autotrader still has the majority of the same vehicles including the ones that were selling over MSRP. How long before the dealers come back to reality?

Looks like the first month's sales are pretty good! Article I saw had over 400 sold.

Would imagine that the majority of those were preorders, but doesn't account for the amount of unsold vehicles that remain on Autotrader (which grows each day, now at over 200+ vehicles for a $100K car that has only been available for 1 month). For comparison, only 150 MB S Coupes, 300 F-Types, 200 911 Carrera, and 100 BMW 6 series in the same price range are available as 2017 models on Autotrader.

Unsure. Sticker was $101K. Seems in the ballpark.
