Anyone else find the OEM Lexus leather key fob "glove" kinda laughably bad? The cross-wise partitions dont line up with the fob buttons AT ALL.
It certainly isnt an "option" I would have chose had I spec'd this bespoke order myself. I just find them funny being ill-fitting compared to everything else about the LC fit & finish. They shoulda gone with hard case fob covers if anything, though personally I dont plan on using a fob cover at all.
Not a fan of adding a glove or cover to the key fob. Three different Lexus fobs so far: Type 2 with the GX, Type 6 with the RCF, and now the Type 4. It didn’t take long to miss the earlier designs.
The LC fob definitely looks nicer, but it feels bigger and the sharper edges make it a bit awkward to hold. The key card is an option, but the physical buttons are still preferred on the occasions the car actually gets driven.
I've forgone the leather gloves also (a pile sitting in a drawer) since it didn't help when trying to figure out what keys go to what vehicle. So I've attached color coordinated dog tags for identification when using the Fobs.
Is a key card suppose to come with the car? I bought my 2025 new and did not receive a card. Thanks.
Same here .Haven't missed what I never had.
At delivery mine had the leather fob cover option. Can't remember if I removed it there or when we got home. It was like cheap breading over a fine fish fillet.
I was also surprised and shocked at the poor quality of the cover. I did not get a card. I just thought it got lost in the circus it took to get my car shipped to the selling dealer. In fact I had no idea they existed until a month later when I bought my wife a new LX and it came with the card.
Not sure what the complaint is.
My 2017 RX is almost 10 years old. And my 2017 LS looks just fine.
I rarely pull the fob out of my pocket and rarely press the button on it. This is the reason why I prefer the keycard.
You can just cut the cross bars on the LC fob’s glove if it really bothers you.
I think the quality is great and does what it’s designed to do; protect the fob when you drop it.

It was just an observation given the odd alignment of the cross bars. I prefer to lock/unlock via the buttons so I put less wear and tear pushing on the door handle to unlock it. Trying to protect those servos.
I even put masking tape over the handles when washing it to prevent water ingress into the handle housing as much as I can given the theories on water ingress causing corrosion and thus failure of the door handle mechanism.
It's probably snake oil what I'm doing on both fronts but what the heck.

I am obsessive as they come but this is a level of ridiculous that I can't entertain. Neither of my fobs have ever spent a day outside of their leather covers in the three years I've owned my LC. Even if the cases had worn out by now, I'd have thought they served their purpose and bought two more. Do they look worn out to you? What complaint could one possibly have with the fitment here? The leather key fob matches the leather interior of the vehicle and protects the fob and the surfaces it comes into contact with. Do you really want to give a valet or a service guy a fob in a hard case?
