Lc500 bug deflector ?
Doing PPF front bumper but do not wish to have PPF on hood so I’m looking for the old school traditional bug deflector attachment anyone have a vendor I would appreciate their contact information thank you Richard
So you're willing to pay to ppf and protect your front bumper but not your hood. It is more expensive to have a hood repaired and repainted than it is to have a bumper replaced or resprayed.
Do PPF on the hood, or alternatively put a ceramic coat on it to protect from the chemical bug etching to an extent, if the rock chips are not something you care about. Though if that is the case you should skip PPF on the bumper also.
A bug deflector will look terrible.

I don't know, but he might be on to something. If it was made of carbon fiber some members here would glue, scew, or tac it on. I do not believe there is a vendor for this particular product. If you just prefer some type of leading edge protection you might be able to come up with something or make your own. Good luck.
Well, what can I say, while you all have nothing but negative insults to say you don’t seem to respect or maybe you don’t understand people have their own preferences. One reason I’m not interested in the PPF for the hood is because I understand once it’s removed there is a permanent shadow. Other than that if you don’t have anything decent and positive contribute don’t bother replying.

Richard, ashamed of the responses you received from the club. Matters not why you prefer the old school deflector, but that you do, and should be receiving support for an answer. -Joe

Just a thought.....how about window film? It's similar to PPF, but less durable. It comes off easy with steam and patience. You may end up changing out every few months though. Maybe a company that already makes bug deflectors? They may have an application or something close to it.
For what it's worth, recently I removed the PPF from my Nissan truck that I was selling because the film had cracked. After removal the paint was exactly the same as the rest of the hood. That was with 3m product that I personally installed. Car was in the Sun in AZ for all those 18 years.

I think there's a fundamental misunderstanding here - I doubt many people would advocate for the dealer-installed (3M) PPF which stops half-way up the hood - the gold standard is to PPF the whole hood (or the whole front end, including the front wings/quarters, mirror housings, and rocker panels, in my case). Glad I did, the protection has more than paid for itself, over the first 8 months of ownership - rock chips, bug splats (which are nuts in farm country, in the summer), bird poop and even road salt - so many things assaulting our lovely paint-jobs!
Funny when I purchased my CPO 21' I asked the dealer for PPF full frontage. He took it to the installer and then only found out that car ALREADY had it installed. The dealer didn't see it and neither did I. Great install obviously.
It's only if u do a partial coverage on the hood would you end up with a concern years up the road with a dividing line. But would advised a full hood application for everyday weather and nature concerns, occasional flying debris. If you were to rid of the film, no issues left behind and one would buff it again to get it back to original, a simple process.
