I'm sure you must be aware that the stock wheels on the LC are staggered. 8.5" width in front and 9.5" out back. Both with an offset of +25 I have changed mine to 21x9.5" with +5 offset in front and 21x10.5" with +15 offset in back. I run 255/40 in front and 295/35 in back.
I currently have the stock 21x8.5 wheels (rear 9.5) with a 25mm offset to make it effectively a 0 offset. I like the cosmetic of how flush it is. My question is, using the fronts just as an example, I'm ordering custom wheels and I can get the same size/width and make it in 0 offset or I can get a 21x9" width and a +6mm offset. This will keep the outer edge the same and the inner edge will go back in closer to the stock position by about 12mm. This will reduce/correct the scrub radius that I changed with the spacers.
I may be OCD on this and overthinking but my question is, should I do the 9" width in the front to help correct the scrub radius I changed? But, the disadvantage to me is added weight of the extra .5" width and also, I'd probably stick with the same 245/40/21 tire so would the 9" width negatively affect the comfort because the tire would stretch a bit wider to meet the rim? Or, should I get a 255/40/21, which would help to compensate for the added with of the rim but would slightly increase the diameter of the tire.
Thank you. I am not planning on going to 22" wheels for clarity, and I'd like to keep the flush look of the 8.5" with 0mm offset (25mm spacers) for both the front and the rear 9.5" with 25mm spacers..
I have a set to arrive soon from WL Forged. The owner Ryan and his team can design a wheel with the +25 offset machined in. If you are willing to wait, I can give you and the group a complete review.
