Default Blackstone Labs Report

Just sharing as I think it's interesting. From my 2nd oil change report from Blackstone labs. If this is something you are interested in, you can visit their site and request free sample kits. I know it's all not really necessary, but it's easy/cheap peace of mind. I use them for my other cars as well (which have much higher mileage). This is from oil change #2 @4995 miles. Oil change #3 @8800 miles(before my current ~3k mile road trip) report is expected shortly. I accidentally used High Mileage 5w-30, hence the response you see in the report.

Excerpt:
DAVID: When it comes to what we see in oil analysis, there's nothing too special about high-mileage oils,

so we don't have any concerns about that, even in your <5,000-mile engine. The main difference we know

about is that HM oils contain seal conditioners. So really, nothing to worry about! A slightly low viscosity isn't

worrisome, either. This report does contain high metals and silicon, but that's common for an engine that's

only got an oil change or two under its belt. Soon, your results should look like universal averages, which

are based on ~5,000 miles on the oil.

I also posted Blackstone’s result about Toyota’s “Lifetime” transmission fluid when I did a flush on my old IS:
