Default Ordering 2026 LC500

Apologies in advance if this has been answered in another thread..

How do you know if a dealer is willing/able to order a bespoke model for you? I have put my name on the waitlist for several Texas dealerships but they have all told me the same thing, that they are waiting for allocations (probably October) to be able to submit any kind of request.

Since I know Toyota/Lexus doesn't technically accept custom orders. I'm afraid that they are just going to try to sell me whatever the dealership ordered and not submit a request the spec/build sheet that I want.

Would like to hear experiences, especially from Texas folks about their 2025-26 ordering experiences and particular dealerships that they have liked.

I purchased mine from Sterling McCall Lexus in Sugarland (next to Houston). The only hiccup was when I ordered a 2024 Bespoke vert in June 24, the order was rejected in September. I then had to reorder the car but it was for a 2025 build. Received the car in January 2025. Buying experience was flawless except for the reorder. The car is phenomenal. Flare yellow, blue white interior and blue roof.

What process did the dealer do to submit the order? Did you get handed a spec sheet?

Salesperson entered everything into the computer as I sat with him and looked over his shoulder. Received a spec sheet once I paid the $2,500.00 non refundable deposit.

Oh okay that sounds like the process my sales person described once he gets an allocation. I have already paid a deposit back in July so hopefully he pulls through soon.

In May my non-refund dep was $1000. They never submitted a "special order" to Lexus but insisted we needed to find in dealer stock or dealer allocation with no deposit against it.

Have you received acceptance of the build sheet from Lexus? Or did dealer give you a time line to do so?

Not a Lexus dealer / salesperson, but I have a bespoke LC500 that I ordered in June of '23 and I'm pretty sure my sales guy has sold 15-20 more over the years based on my referrals.

My advice for you would be to go back to your salesperson and ask a lot of questions about the bespoke process. Any dealer should be able to take a bespoke order at any time, because they are literally custom orders to the factory. It should be a separate queue from the allocation process. If your salesperson is using the word "allocation" I suspect that they either aren't familiar with the bespoke process or aren't routing you through that process.

More likely, they're waiting for the allocations for all the dealerships to come out and will try to get you a vehicle from that list on dealer trade that is as close to what you want as possible. Which is how every Toyota and Lexus dealer sells every other car when a buyer wants a specific color or other options.

My impression is that most salespeople aren't familiar with the bespoke process and don't want to go to the effort to help you through it. If you aren't getting a thorough explanation and comfortable feeling that you'll end up with the car you want, you need to escalate to the sales manager for the dealership. Or you need to keep asking to find a dealership / salesperson who can get you there.

My referral is Scott Vye at Stevinson Lexus in Lakewood, Colorado.

Went to the stealership and configured the car on the website, they printed it out, 5k non refundable. 3-4 months later i had it in my driveway. It was not a fun experience. I've left alot out.

This LC will be my 6th new Lexus vehicle purchase from my dealer in Arizona. No deposit. ETA could be 9 months. I ordered my wife's 2024 GX550 Overtrail+ when ordering opened up for the new gen and took delivery 6 months later.

I've never felt i've been leap frogged in the ordering/delivery process. My SA is always keeping me updated.

With that said, my 24 M3Cx was a highly custom build with port installed options (carbon splitters and MP HAS) and i took delivery within 6 months of ordering. It was my first purchase from that dealer.

All these scenarios pale in comparison to trying to land a PTS 911 lol. You have to crack the Davinci Code to win that lottery or pay insane ADM.

"Non refundable"? If they don't deliver the car as ordered they keep your $2,500? 😲
