Default Listening to Youtube while connected to Android Auto?

2022 LC: Wonder if anyone has run into this issue and has a work around.

While listening to Youtube on my phone via a Bluetooth connection, I can use the volume *****, track forward etc. with no issues.

Once I connect my phone via Android Auto and play YT on my phone, it will connect and pause my Spotify (which is one of the apps/options in my AA) and play YT with no issue.
However, if i try to adjust the volume or anything it will pause the YT and start playing Spotify again.
I can't seem to find a way that I can use the controls to adjust volume for YT while connected to AA and not toggling back to Spotify.

Not sure if this is just a Lexus thing or a setting I may have missed.

For reference, I have no such issue in my Honda Ridgeline while playing YT and connected to AA.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

I don’t use Spotify or AA.
But have you tried signing out of Spotify?

I know when I hand my phone to my son and he uses Tidal to play, it overrides whatever it is playing.

I don’t have Spotify or AA. But I know when I hand my son my phone and he uses Tidal to play his kids songs, it overrides whatever it is currently playing.

So the only way I could find a work around is to remove Spotify from the app list in AA.
This is so strange it only acts that way in the Lexus and not in my Honda.

Sorry, I don’t really understand what you try to do. You say : you play YT and it stops Spotify. Isn’t it obvious, you can’t play music from both apps at the same time.

can you give more details I will try to reproduce.

He’s playing YT but when he adjusts the volume, spotify takes over. Meaning, he can’t change the volume in YouTube.

When the car connects to AA.
I can play YT on my phone and have it play the volume through the car speakers.
Once I touch the vol controls, it will automatically switch over from YT and plays Spotify.
The only way I could find a work around was to remove the Spotify app from AA.
Not the best as I lose the ability to play Spotify through AA.

As I stated before my Honda does not experience this at all. It must be some quirk or setting that I am not able to find in the Lexus.

Found the following while searching in the Spotify community. You may try it out (Settings -> Apps -> Spotify -> Permissions). I do not use Spotify hence can't do any better than posting this. Hope this works for you.

"If you go into the app settings (Android's Spotify app settings, not Spotify's internal app settings) go to the apps 'permissions' settings then turn off the 'nearby devices' permission."
