This tread is getting old and long but internal factory auctions of press and executive fleet cars are common. One of the Jag dealers here in Dallas would buy a slug of 5 or 6 cars at a time and sell them as CPOs. In fact, I bought one in 2016 and still have it - I have not had any problems with it. My carfax report's first entry is "Auto Auction" then goes on to show sold as CPO and titled for the first time.

In short, those cars shouldn't scare you off.
