Default Convertible Top Glass Issue

Has anyone seen or had this issue on their Convertible Top and Window? Looks that the Urethane sealer is separating from the glass.
This one happens to be on a Used 2021 L-Certified Car but they are telling me its not an issue and they won't fix it.
I called my Glass guy and he referred me to an upholstery company. I called 2 of them and both said that they don't fix those.
Apparently that window is heat sealed onto the top at the factory and to replace you replace the whole top. Both of them told the same thing.
Looking to see if anyone has any insights on this.
Thank you!

I asked the dealer they said they wouldn't change it, told me to deal with it. not the response I thought I would get with a low mileage LC thats L-Cert.

I'd fight your Lexus dealer like hell to have that replaced under warranty.

I haven't purchased the car yet, trying to decide if I want to or not.
They told me they will not fix it for the sale of the car...even though its L-Certified.

Therein lies your answer. For L-Certified and where you're a potential customer, the fact they basically gave you the boot, would make me want to do the same in return.

I'd pass on it and acquire another LC coupe/vert elsewhere from a place that would be willing to accommodate. Good luck.

Based on my experience so far, I would only be purchasing from them and then be taking my services to another dealer.
Thank you!

I have to believe that the dealer showed their hand in regards to service. So I would pass on this one in the hopes of not having to deal with this dealer on any issue that may cause you heart ack later. There are many around the country.
Its the type of vehicle that you could air travel kick the tires etc B4 buying then drive home or have it shipped knowing all is well. And as u mentioned, take it to the garage of your choice.

Wait...you still want to purchase from them? What are you doing man? Find another car from another dealer. That glass is defective and the entire top needs to be replaced. Plenty of others will pop up for sale.

Don’t walk. Run. PLENTY of used certified LC500 around.
This is the same experience I’m getting with my local BMW dealer. I was checking out a certified 540i and noticed there’s spider web defect in the lens of one of the headlamps. They said since it passed the certification, they ain’t changing it. This made me question their certification process and I can’t imagine getting good service from them.

I will echo what others have said: bolt for the door. If that's how they treat you while trying to make a sale, imagine how they'll treat you after you've already given them money.

Same year, maybe higher mileage; https://www.lexusoflakeside.com/auto...-mi/100534921/

But as most have said, if they won't negotiate walk away. Also Glass is excluded from the Certified Warranty, but most people find they have coverage under their personal insurance.

Contrary to other responses, I'd price the cost of a new top/glass and make offer including a deduction for replacement. If they don't accept, then walk.

If the others you contacted are correct and you need to replace that top, it's a $24,000 top. I"m sure that's for all the mechanicals and frame bits. It does not sound like they can replace the fabric and rear window only at a lower cost. It seems silly to me to replace the whole top if the rear glass cracks, poor design.

*** PASS ON IT like others have said ***

There are other prettier fish in the sea! I know one thing, if a broken rear window requires me to replace the entire top, im not keeping my 23 vert forever as I had planned. Things happen, that's an outrageous cost, even with a 25% discount. IDK if that's parts only or installation and parts, either way it's exorbitant and a ridiculous design. If I knew all I know now about the LC, I think I would have kept my pristine 06 SC with 45k miles and my pristine 13 LS with 64k miles. I sold both so I could do a cash deal for my new 23 LC. With the spontaneous frame crack issue, and the fitment issues on the convertible top as well as some door alignment issues, it's not the halo factory and excellent manufacturing process I once thought it was.

*** Again: like many others have said, walk away from this one no matter how much you want it. Wait for a better one ***

Good luck 👍🏾
