We are new to soft top convertible. For you guys who aren’t can you suggest some do and don’t maintenance, cleaning and preserving these tops. We have the tan top and freaking out a bit about keeping it clean. Thanks

Chemical Guys has a top conditioner and a special brush for the top. I used it on my Porsche for five years and looked brand new when I sold it.
I’ll be using it again when my LC comes in.

Do not use automated washes. Do not use normal car soap that you use on the rest of the car. There is unique canvas top was and conditioner which should be used. (RaggTopp for example, which is excellent.) In addition don't use the same wash mitt/sponge that you use on the rest of the car. Use a horsehair brush specifically made for this purpose. Wet top well. Use a medium stream, not jet. Don't spray in gasket areas too much. Wet horse hair brush and gently scrub in circles one area at a time, between rinsing. Right after this wash and dry, apply the conditioner prior to driving the car or exposing to a dusty environment, like having your kid blow leaves out of your garage. . .

RaggTopp. It is the only product tested and endorsed by Haartz who make almost all of the fabric convertible roofs for cars. Can't go wrong.

Did you have the Porsche Boxster? If so I imagine you are in for a different vibe/ driving experience with your incoming LC500. Congratulations!

Congrats on purchase! For top care I use ca cleaner specific for fabric, and I echo using horse hair for scrubbing. After drying (and in between washes) I brush dust/dirt off with a horse hair hat brush, then follow with vacuum (soft bristle attachment), to avoid pushing debris into top.

Hope it helps🤙🏽

Rule #1 don’t keep top down for a long time to avoid rincles.
#2 after wash dry it well before fold it down
#3 when washed with soap let it flood with water using shower head, no pressure washer
#4 on a daily basis use lint roller to remove dust, you will be surprised how much it is there
#5 some recommend to vacuum it before wash to avoid dust particles to be washed into the fabric. Maybe it is for old type of fabric
#6 don’t use microfiber washmit it will left a lot of lint on the top.
