I'll be at COTA doing the regular class on Friday, June 6th. Did the Masterclass at COTA last year and while the 1:1 instructor time was awesome, it felt harder to justify the price. I would definitely recommend the Masterclass to anyone to do at least once and see if you enjoy it. My friend and I effectively had Roberto Guerrero to ourselves the entire day.
I was also going to do Sonoma in September and road trip there in my LC500 from Denver, but they cancelled those dates a couple of days ago and said they probably wouldn't be rescheduling.
Considering signing up for Road Atlanta. This would be my first track day. I had no idea the costs associated with the event. I guess you have to pay to play!!! See you there!

It will be my first track day also. They've been steadily increasing cost by $100/yr each year. When I first heard about it the 2023 season was $995. I still find it should be a good experience at $1200 + $150 for hotel, at least can say I've done it after hearing great things from people who have done it. I also really want to push an LC to the limits to see what it's capable of (with fundamental race driving instruction as an added benefit!), but not my LC
I figure a day at a track with my own car will easily cost $1000 as well between track fees and tire+brake wear.
I have cleared my calendar for that weekend at Road Atlanta, and am definitely planning on going. It would be great to have several of us LC guys on the same day, so is there a preference? I was thinking about Saturday, and maybe we can do a dinner afterwards as well. But I only live like 45 minutes away, so I can make any day work.
I've already booked mine for Saturday, but likely will promptly leave the track at the end of the day so I can make it to my brother's house in Marietta and see my niece+nephew before they shuffle off to bed.
If you are going to do it, do it Right.
Road Atlanta was Dr. Panoz's 2nd child to go with his 1st child Chateau Elan.
The resort is less than 10 minutes from the track. I'd be shocked if there wasn't a shuttle ride to the track. https://www.chateauelan.com/

My brother lives an hour away so I'm not spending $400 to spend the night somewhere other than his house
Yup road Atlanta is 7ish hours from me, it's gonna be a glorious drive there and back in the LC!
Preferred the Atlanta trip but it was too far for a weekend trip unless flying. The Chateau Elan would have been an interesting stay. Keep trying to coerce the wife to drive the LC to Hilton Head this summer, going thru the mountains in West Virginia would be fun.

Testify!
In spite of how $ poor WVa is, the 9th wonder of the world was how Fantastic the condition was of their twisty mountain roads when I motorcycled them a few years ago. Made my usual decent North Ga mountain roads look like Detroit and Pennsylvania roads. And the Mts of WVa have Horrible winter weather.
