Default Buying new LC 500

I'm in the market for a new 2025 LC 500.
It seems most Lexus dealers are selling them at MSRP, with a small deposit to secure an allocation spot. Delivery time is unknown.
Does anyone know of any dealer who would do better than the above, or is the LC an unicorn enough that MSRP is expected?

If the vehicle is not on the lot, expect to pay msrp or more. Better negotiation room when the vehicle is on the lot.

Also, if you have a trade in, you can get a little better on the trade in value and pay msrp.

The only ones that sell at discount are ones that are occupying space on a dealer lot without being sold. Dealers will often cut prices to move them but if you're getting one that hasn't landed yet, you won't see a dime off MSRP unfortunately.

Back in 2020 I purchased from Alderson in Lubbock and had it shipped.
I found them to be very pleasant to work with and not grumpy about discounting a new model.
Dealership was sold to Cavender and supposedly a like minded owner.

Default a 2nd Destination Fee???

I'm also seriously considering buying a 2025 LC500 and the local dealership doesn't have what I want on their lot. They do NOT do bespoke orders and they also mentioned that when they find something close to what I do want, they will initiate a dealer trade.

Here's the rub on which I need some clarification: Besides, the normal $1,350 Lexus destination fee (fine), they said I would have to pay $1,200 MORE to have the car transported from the other dealership to theirs. Is this normal? I have never done that with any other dealership / manufacturer but this would be my first Lexus obviously. Thanks for any insight.

Transfer fee is quite normal. Unless, the dealerships fall under the same mothership and/or they have vehicle trade that they can do, the buyer will likely have to fork the bill.
The only thing that’s good for you here is that if for some reason the vehicle was damaged, the dealer is more obligated to be responsible for it.

I just picked up my FY bespoke today, 1-6-25 at Sterling McCall Lexus in Houston. I had ordered it in June. See new member post I put up a few days ago. They currently have a bespoke Nori Green convertible tan interior (might be a 24) that's been there a few days/weeks and is in the back lot, and a 2025 Caviar coupe with black interior that arrive this past Friday with mine that is also in the back lot. I dealt with Jerry Chen. He was willing to cut 3k off the price if I was interested in another non bespoke convertible a few months ago that was languishing in their show room. It sold recently and I don't know for how much. But check with them online first as I had a good first hand experience with Jerry and see if they will deal.

Forgot to add, the other Houston Lexus dealer near Katy told me then would take a $2500.00 deposit for my bespoke order. When I got an email to some other questions I asked, they then posted they wanted a 10K non-refundable deposit. I declined and shopped at the other dealer. On the plus side, the dealer that I did not do business with had more cars to choose from that was in the lot.

Well, is it possible to buy it from the other dealership and drive it home yourself?

All fees are negotiable. Yes the dealer will incur a transfer expense getting the car for you, but if the alternative is they don't get a sale I bet they'll eat it. Just be willing to commit with a non-refundable deposit if they are going to spend money to get the car for you before you commit to it to remove their risk.

Others have answered this well, but if you're willing to go regional or nationwide, use Caredge.com which aggregates dealer inventory and gives you 'time on lot' and negotiate from there. Dealers in colder regions or small markets may be more willing to pre-sell LC's in the pipeline.

I'm definitely looking around for an Infrared LC500 but haven't seen one so far in the vague vicinity of Knoxville, TN.

I appreciate all of the suggestions and will try to participate a bit more often. Thanks again.

Don't work with that dealer. This is too much money for a car to not get exactly what you want (i.e. bespoke), and there's way too many dealers that would rather ask your wife what color RX she likes than to sit down with you for a couple of hours and go through the option codes on a bespoke LC.

Scott Vye at Stevinson Lexus of Lakewood (Denver) has done a good number of bespoke LC500's and knows what he's doing, if you need a reference.

I feel your pain. I finally threw in the towel and ordered one. My dealer tried to dealer trade for every infrared/caramel convertible that was in the pipeline but none were willing to let go. I ordered around the first of December so based on what I see on this forum I’m not expecting anything until March-May. It sucks to have to order because as others have mentioned you don’t get a dime of negotiability.

Are you looking for a coupe or convertible?
