Spoke with my dealer yesterday regarding allocation status for my Bespoke build. No news yet.........But was informed that cars on the dock in Long Beach are being held up and /or returned to Japan. Does this happen often? Do any of you know why? Should I be concerned about even being able to purchase one?

No idea if this might be the same reason for hold at Long Beach.

I can’t even imagine what kind of repairs would cause the manufacturer to ship cars back to Japan to be fixed and shipped back here, so I wouldn’t read too much into any claims of such a thing. That doesn’t mean that cars can’t get stuck in port for a long time for almost infinite reasons, big or small. Good luck.

Dec 13, 2024#Lexus#lexusls, #lexusnxcomparison , #lexus , #lexusrxdelivery , #lexusnxcomparison , #lexuslsdeliveryLexus LC500 wheels installed incorrectly...recall On November 21, Toyota Motor Corporation filed a recall (recall and free repair) with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, stating that some Lexus LC500 and LC500h models were installed with prototype wheels that were mistakenly made during development. The affected vehicles are 665 vehicles of two models and two types manufactured between March 8, 2023 and August 9, 2024. Due to insufficient parts management during the manufacturing process for aluminum wheels, some prototype wheels that were not marked with a symbol representing the vehicle were installed incorrectly. Therefore, they do not comply with Article 9 of the Safety Standards (standards for running equipment, etc.). As a remedial measure, the symbol marking representing the vehicle on the back of the wheel of all vehicles will be inspected, and those without the symbol will be replaced with good products. There have been zero malfunctions and no accidents.
Details of the Recall:
- Affected Models: Lexus LC500 and LC500h.
- Issue: Installation of prototype wheels not intended for production vehicles.
- Potential Risks: Prototype wheels may not meet the durability and safety standards required for regular use, potentially leading to performance issues or safety hazards.
- Remedy: Toyota will replace the prototype wheels with the correct production-standard wheels at no cost to the vehicle owners.
- Scope: This recall is specific to certain vehicles in Japan. It's currently unclear if vehicles outside Japan are affected.
- Safety Assurance: Toyota emphasizes its commitment to vehicle safety and is proactively addressing the issue to ensure all vehicles meet stringent safety standards.
