Engine Sound Enhancement
At least the LC, I can permanently set it to off I guess.

Active Noise Control is used to “clean” the sound frequencies experienced in the car. This emits anti-pulse sounds through the audio speakers which counteract any unwelcome low frequency booming sound from the engine and drivetrain.
In the LC Coupe, noise inside the cabin is monitored by a microphone in the roof, but for the Convertible, this had to be relocated inside the driver’s headrest. Being closer to the driver’s ear means it can pick up a wider range of frequencies, but a complex algorithm had to be calculated to make sure it works accurately in any seat position.

From 2021 LC Brochure:
The sound generator and generator hoses utilize pulses in the engine air intake to generate and harmonize 3 different high frequency tones during acceleration, producing a highly distinctive and sporty engine sound unique to the LC. An aural experience in its own right, the vibrant engine sound is enhanced by special sound-control valves in the exhaust that activate during start-up, producing a localized sound image that projects a feeling of space and depth.

Not sure if the ESE is real or not. Car sounds amazing with it on or off.
The ANC though, I find the ML sounds better. I never liked the sound of the ML in this LC from day one. Always thought it was harsh sounding. This could be from the injection of high frequency to cancel out whatever sound it thinks it needs. I turned it off for now.
Both my RX and LS has ML and they sound better than the LC500. I’m pretty sure it has to do with volume(space) and speakers placement. And that ANC certainly doesn’t help.

With it on or off, I still hear cars pass by on the opposite lane. I’m not even sure if it actually cancelling anything audible.I really hate to see anything “enhancement” on it though. So my preference is off even if it doesn’t make a difference.
More people need to try this.
