Default Jack

What you guys using to Jack up the car? I’ve been using the provided scissor jack to avoid messing up the metal flap at the jacking point.

I use a 3 ton low profile floor jack with a hockey puck jack pad. Works a treat. I think mine is a Pittsburgh one, but it's several years old.

I too use a floor jack. You can buy a slotted jack pad that will work for the Lexus jack point.

3-ton floor jack with a puck that has grooves to accommodate the LC's jack points. Also, because the car is so low, I also use a JackRod as the initial (and backup) jack stand. It works great. Also, I found out that the chassis is so stiff, that you can jack up an entire side by just jacking up on one of the side's front jack point. Back comes up almost as fast as the front.

Thanks guys for the fast responds. I just got the wheels from Vossen and tires from TireRack. Going to get them mounted and balanced tomorrow at the dealership because they got the TPMS in stock(black). Because it’s impossible to haul all that in the LC, I need to bring my RX so I have to mount the wheels myself.
I’ve been using the scissor jack but it’s a slow process and don’t know how many times I can use it before it’s weakened. Better to have it in the trunk in case of emergency.

I just ordered this puck pad
Amazon Amazon

and this LP 3T jack.

^ I have that same puck pad. I've only used it on the RCF, no complaints with it. Make sure the wheel weights they use are black as well.

I have a 3 ton floor jack and quick jacks. I rarely touch the 3 ton jacks now that I have the quick jacks.

Have you thought about using the mobile installers?

That looks big and expensive. I really don’t work on the car other than mounting the winter and summer wheels.

3-ton low profile Daytona jack with rubber puck on the jack itself as well as on the jack stands.

After months of searching and researching, I ended up with Vossen HF5 in satin black.
20x8.5 with 16mm offset for front
20x9.5 with 15mm offset for the rear.
The tires I went with are Michellin All Season 4.
245/45/R20
275/40/R20. Basically stock size for OEM 20” rims.

I’ve been looking since early September since I knew I had to do something with the summer tires living in the NE. I’ve looked at many options including putting a few offers on eBay for previous MY OEM 20” rims and wheels. Fortunately, they all declined my offers. I have a 2024, and since previous MY uses lug nuts, finding the right lug bolts for the wheels to seat them properly on my 2024 is probably going to be a big headache. I’ve looked at the mounting holes in previous year and the 2024 wheels and they’re not the same. This means that I cannot use my 2024 lug bolts on previous MY wheels.
While having a second set of wheels is my preference, I did consider just changing out the tires and use the stock bespoke rims but 1) I like the Michellin PS5 summer tires the car came with. 2) I only have <3k miles on them and it would be a waste to unmount them. And no, I’m not going to mount and dismount tires twice a year. And 3)Finding 21” tires in our sizes is a PITA. They do have the AS4 but I would have to run 255 instead of 245 in the front. Not a big deal and some of us do run this size but combine this with 1 and 2, I gave up the idea.

So I decided to go aftermarket with a reputable company that know what they’re doing and can provide the lug bolts for their wheels to seat them properly. I’ve had Vossen in the past and do like the quality for the price. And the HF5 has always been the wheels I like.
I went with 20s because there’s a plethora of options for tires including some very nice winter tires. But I realize I would never drive the LC in the snow and the tires are more for the cold so the AS4 was my pick. I think I will get more comfortable ride as well due to the thicker sidewall. And as an added bonus, the 20” tires are much cheaper than the 21” tires.
TBH, I did spend more than I wanted. I didn’t know the TPMS would be a large cost adder. I thought I was going to just get the genuine Toyota TPMS on eBay for 60$ a pack of 4 lol. But I found out the frequency is not the same and it’s hard to find black valve stem TPMS so I went with the dealer for 70$ each.
They also wanted over $400 to program the darn thing which I will omit and will try to do it myself with ODB reader. Or have my corner body shop do it since he did it on my GSF in less than 5mins and didn’t charge me anything(I did leave $20 on the counter).

I preloaded the rims and tires in my RX to head to the dealership for mounting and balance tomorrow. It’s a full house.
I don’t even think the LC500 trunk can handle one wheel especially the rear wheel so I don’t know how people would be able to carry a spare in their trunk.

^^^^Yes, the LC will handle one wheel and tire in the trunk, but the trunk will not close all the way - AMHIK When I got the wheel and tire home, it was wedged in so tight, I couldn't get it out I had to let the air out of the tire before I could move it. That was the front wheel that became my spare.

Edit - If I needed winter wheels, I would also choose 20".

A donut spare will not fit in the trunk of my LC500 convertible. Disappointing as it did in my M4 convertible. And I got a flat the other week. Having the spare with me would have made life easier for sure.
