In fairness, in the video that I saw, you need a key with the transponder while you do this. A thief can make one, my friend actually has a business making car keys for used car dealers, but that takes more than a minute, pricy equipment (and a supply of car-specific blanks), and some cars can’t make new keys without the old one present. (If a valet has your car at dinner, that’s VERY doable, and a good way for a pro to shop for cars, then follow you home to pick it up when you’re gone.) A wire and tester and a YouTube video isn’t going to let some amateur steal the car, though.
You know what guys....I don't want to go back and forth on this. I wasn't trying to speak poorly of the product. I was simply pointing out that it isn't fool proof and people on youtube are showing that it can be bypassed with some simple equipment. I'm sure the product is great and the chances of getting your car stolen are slim to none to begin with. Fingers crossed that we all get to experience our wonderful machines with nothing horrible like that happening to any one of us in the future. After digging around a bit I think I might check out that IGLA system. This thread is starting to make me paranoid.
I keep Apple AirTags in my cars. It lets me know where the cars are at and comes in handy if I forget where I parked. If someone steals the car, they can get an approximate reading on it with an iPhone or Android app. AirTags have a built in sounder that can be activated when trying to locate them so I removed the sounder and put the AirTag behind an interior panel. Not foolproof, but a cheap easy layer of security with added convenience.

It’s funny when you get a warning that an unaffiliated air tag is tracking you. (They added that feature after stalkers were using them.) I think that happens after an hour, so if you have a passenger in the car for a medium length trip they’re going to get a warning. I drove a friend’s kids somewhere, and I’d forgotten that they had them in their backpacks. It took me a second of wondering if someone was actually tracking me.
Trackhawk GPS brother that’s the best kill switch you can do. I just put it on a 24 lc500. But we’ve put it on every car from a 1995 accord to a 2025 Ferrari last week. It’s all remote via your app on the phone live 24/7 gps tracking geo fencing speed history etc and then killswitch you can disable/enable whenever you want from the comfort of your phone
As long as the place you take it to install does high end work, it’s run from the fuse box so if it’s a good shop, the wires for this will look identical to the factory wires it’s been 4 years I’ve sold over 3,000 of them haven’t had 1 person able to remove it from a car and take the car.

According to their website, subscriptions "start" at $16 a month. With all the monthly fees for various services you can get (cloud dash cam, kill switch, GPS tracker, etc.) I feel like it will cost $100/mth just to leave the car in the garage. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm experiencing subscription fatigue. Not interested in yet another monthly fee. Do I really need to have a kill switch if the car is already gone? Lexus app will tell me the location which I can report to the police and a simple kill switch I activate when I get out of the car myself to prevent starting seems to be enough, no? And that's if they try to start it. A kill switch won't help if they hoist and tow it away.
Cops don’t care brother last time my car got stolen they made me wait 4 hours for them to even call me back. This way you can kill the car, track it and go get it yourself with the Lexus app you track it but all you need to do is unplug 1 wire and it kills the tracking. The Trackhawk gps is wired from the fuse box nobody will ever find it as long as a professional install it. It’s $16 a month to protect your car. Id pay that rather than any subscription Lexus offers. That’s a Netflix membership lol
Yeah, if my car left the driveway without me, I don’t want it back!!
Bingo. I know a guy who got back a stolen car, and it was nothing but problems. They had to replace all of the stolen and broken parts that weren’t exactly removed with care. He was away for a week, so he was late to report it, and therefore hoped that it was long since chopped. No such luck. It was a mid-90s Lexus SC, now that I think about it.

lol…… “go get it myself”
even if it works, good luck explaining that to your insurance.
For me, there are a lot of these security gadgets (wheel locks, trackers, kill switches, cams, wheel boot, etc.) that all sound good in theory but are just a waste of money. In my opinion, there are two types of thieves. The casual thief and the determined/professional thief. If someone really wants to steal your car they are going to find a way to defeat most or all of these security measures quickly. All can eventually be beaten even a "GPS kill switch". They don't need to start it, they'll just trailer it away. Some cheap items can deter the causal thief (alarms, steering wheel bars, basic kill switch, etc.) and maybe that's the best we can hope for. If a professional thief comes after it then they are likely part of a gang or organized crime ring as well and, as a few people have said, I'm not interested in chasing them down and ending up with a gun in my face.
Late to the thread. https://www.mobilistics.com/nostart-...p-immobilizer/
I just received my relay and remotes. I emailed the company about it working in a LC500. It was a vehicle that was not listed on the site. They stated that the LC had not been tested. I found that the LC does not use a standard ignition starter relay. But the EFI relays are standard Toyota Denso 4 pin. I took pictures of the relay and the fuse panels and emailed the company. They agreed that their relay should work. I removed a EFI relay, installed the remote relay in it's place. Pressed the disarm button, then started the car. Turned off the car. Waited 30 seconds for the relay to self arm. pressed the start button, engine would crank but no fuel to the engine, will not start. Pressed stop button to turn off the car, pressed the disarm button on remote. Pressed start button, engine starts immediately. No fault lights, no engine check light, no wiring to install and no kill switch to hide somewhere, no secret button sequence to remember. Has valet mode option using remote fob. And keep the relay that was pulled and put it in the glove compartment if the relay should ever fail or battery dies in the remote and pop it back in place of the immobilizer relay. Simple and effective. The only negative is that the replacement relay is taller, causing fitment issues with the fuse panel cover. I used the fuse panel in the trunk, even with the taller relay, I can engage one panel clip. Hidden away in the trunk. I just placed the original relay in one of the empty relay slots in the panel.
***Update to message. I decided not to use the EFI relay as the fuel in the line can cause the engine to start but then shudder to a stop as the fuel runs out. Subsequent attempts to restart will result in engine cranking only as the fuel is spent. I changed to replacing the IGN 2 relay in the engine bay fuse panel. This results in engine cranking only. And the top panel cover fits perfectly.
Interesting take on things. Not really excited about carrying around another fob but I like how discreet a remotely controlled relay module is. Unlikely anyone one would figure that out.
I have been researching lot of immobilizer systems and didn't decide on one yet however this one seems promising - no wire splicing, no complicated install. Did you try the fuse box in the passenger footwell area to see if there is enough room?
BTW I posted a question to the vendor whether they can make a relay adaptor which can be used with this device that allows the fuse box to be closed fully.
I assume remote start function will stop working with this device unless you are able to disarm the device and then remote start it? That means I need to be almost next to the car to do it, isn't it?
I feel an excellent solution to possible theft and also pick up a plus of better engine response, is to get a throttle response controller. For $200 you can disable the gas pedal, limit it for valet parking, chose how you want the throttle to react while driving or kill the throttle all together. The car will start but no throttle response. I personally have one installed and I feel it has easily been one of my best car accessory investments.
