Why I Love My LC
- I can actually fit my two kids in the car: This was my biggest concern about getting an LC instead of a GS-F, but my 10 and 12 year old kids fit fine in the passenger seat and rear seat behind it. I wouldn't take them on a cross-country road trip, but it's fine for shorter trips as long as your kids aren't basketball stars.
- The tranny and suspension on the 2018 are just fine: The later versions may have some improvements, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with how the 2018's drive. I actually like a little brute force every now and then to compliment the grunt of the V8.
- The entertainment system isn't that bad: Sure, the touchpad takes a bit more effort to use than a touch screen, but after a few days you adapt and learn how to find what you're looking for quickly and easily. I've used Lexus and Toyota touch screens that had problems as well (not to mention the fingerprints) and if this is the worst part of the vehicle then I'm very happy.
- This car gets attention: I knew this would be a special vehicle, but underestimated how much joy others would get in seeing it. Even the tint guy was excited to work on the car, which is new to me. I doubt he'd be as excited to work on a 911 since they're a dime a dozen.
- I expect reliability: The reason I bought a 2018 is two-fold: I'm a cheap bastard and love a deal, and I fully trust this vehicle will not let me down. My Porsche was very expensive to maintain, and I was always stressed when I took it into the dealership since I hate spend thousands of dollars on unexpected car repairs. I have a 20 year old V8 4Runner that has been rock solid and expect the same from the LC.
- It's unique: Scarcity is a benefit of the LC. German cars are well known and plentiful in my area and among my friends. And they're very impressive cars. But no one I know owns an LC so it's not a "me, too" car.
But overall this is one of the best purchases I've ever made as a car guy. I just hope the honeymoon phase lasts as long as it has on my 20 year old 4Runner!

Issues:
Nothing major. Knock on wood.
Only problem was the slight rattle for the passenger center console handle that was remedied within 5 minutes at the dealership.
I have that weird click from the "frame cracking" thread but its so muted and slight that i might just hold off on getting it fixed.
Mods:
Some wheels, that blue wrap and that's it.
Pros:
its just such an fun experience.
The dual personality of the car is fantastic. In comfort mode, its quiet, luxurious, and smooth. You almost cannot feel the 10 speed working and its just a smooth wave of power. However, when you want some excitement, throw it into manual mode and go past 3500rpm while doing a few downshifts. It never gets old.
Its also just fast enough without being ballistic or having suspension so harsh that you need to go see a chiropractor after each run. In other words, its PERFECT for my use case.
2 years on, and it still break necks everywhere I go. The rarity of the car, the wide stance, sultry hips, and gorgeous tight LED cluster makes it like nothing else out there. Ive had people run across traffic to take a picture of it. Ive had a young girl ask me to marry her when she saw me pull up with it, and ive had numerous thumbs up, shout outs and general praise that ive never gotten before when i had my maserati. The douche factor is quite low for a 100k+ car. Everyone from enthusiasts to non enthusiasts love this car.
Cons:
It has very little storage space. The wife has a lot of crap to pack and if we went away for week with the LC, it would be quite challenging to stuff all her junk into the trunk. Of course i can also utilize the parcel shelf behind but i prefer not to out of safety/break in potential.
She's a keeper for sure.
