Default LC rolling forward/backward after putting in park

Anyone else having this issue? Quick google search says possible transmission issue or bad parking pawl, just curious if anyone else has this “issue” or if it’s something normal.

yeah same here. This is when I’m on an incline/decline and it rolls a few inches forward (decline) or backwards (incline) unless I put on the parking break

If you aren't engaging the parking break, this is normal behavior for any car that doesn't automatically engage the parking break simply due to how transmissions work...

I agree normal behavior. In Park I can come up to it and put a little push on it and in moves just a bit, has always been that way since day 1

How much 'roll' are we talking? Inches, i think is ok. Feet, not so much.

Mine does this too and mainly on my driveway which has a very light grade, maybe 10-15 degrees so not much. My UX doesn't do it at all nor does the NX.

I do always hear the electronic parking brakes engage on both the UX and NXs when we shift them into Park, but not for the LC.

Doesn't bother me much if at all, but would love to hear from others on their experiences.

Do you have it set to apply the parking brake when put into park? It's in the settings menu

I would say there is a button under steering wheel which engage a parking brake.

Owner of LS500.
Even with the Automatic Parking Brake feature turned on, I still get a little roll when throwing the car in P and slowly depressing the brake pedal.

Think it’s normal.
Anyone feel free to correct me, if I’m wrong.

I recently noticed the slight lurch on my LC 500 forward or backwards when shifting from drive to park or reverse to park. Never before. I just had it serviced for the HVAC Servo malfunction and I know that had to open up the center console and dash to get access. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. After reading this thread, I checked if the dealership turned off the automatic parking brake feature. They had not, but I reset it again anyhow. It is not as noticeable now after the reset. I will keep an eye on it. Just like you, My NX never experiences this. But it is a hyrbrid and my daily drive so not sure if I have gotten used to the NX behaviors such as the regenerative parking and more proactive driving assist features compared to my LC 500. I am driving my LC500 more realizing it is better to put miles so I am noticing more of its quirks and features.

Default How do you reset the parking brake?

The car has a creek and squeak when the car is parked and it rocks forward or backwards a bit, it only does it when the brake is set. Is there a reset, or an adjustment or a lubrication point?

Normal for a car like the LC, it's old school tech really. Seems people may notice this now as new cars engage an electronic parking brake automatically, new Lexus models, TVs, etc.
