Default Breakin period

Since this is hand built do I have to worry about a breakin period? It's too tempting to redline when driving

I drove mine home from the dealership. Was around 150 miles. Tried to vary the speed on the interstate but still ran around 70-80 mph.
Can't say I didn't hit redline more than a few times during first 500.. I didn't baby it, nor did I abuse. After 400-500 miles it was game on.

Lexus performance driving experience is using brand-sparking-new LC500, letting them to be "broken-in" on the track going 100mph with hard accelerate and hard braking . When I mentioned it to staff, they said it's a common practice they have been following and that they never had any issues with the cars.
Also, Lexus lead technician told me these engines are broken in at the factory and basically ready to go.

I have no way of verifying any of this information, so do with it what you will.
