Question new NX

Noticed the vehicle break-in period contains the following:"Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods."
Can anyone define what the term "extended periods" is supposed to mean?

thanks .

I'm thinking something like hours. It's important to have the engine operate at various speeds during the break-in period. If I was going on an extended highway drive, I'd probably drive 65 for 20-30 minutes and then adjust or down for the next 20-30 minutes.

Thanks...I'll try to drive the freeway with breaks every 30 - 45 min. Slow lane driving. Got to go about 260 miles most of it freeway, but luckily the regular roads parallel the freeway for the most part. Thanks for the quick response.

I would think that driving at a constant speed for extended periods of time, would be like leaving it on cruise control at a high rpm but could be wrong.

The idea is to provide the engine with a variety of conditions during the break-in period.
