Just wondering I checked the oil level after the engine was cold and the level is about 1" over the fill mark. should I bring it back to Lexus for them to correct this or is it ok? Is there a special procedure to check the oil level in this car?
Thank you.

just pull the dip stick when the engine has been off for a few minutes better yet when cold. It holds a little over 9 quarts. Make sure they didnt put in 10. An inch over is to much oil. Your always better to be a little below the mark or right at it.
As crazy as this sounds Be Very Sure the car is perfectly level with you check the oil. It appears to me it makes a bigger difference with the LC for some reason. Mine showed about a 2/3" over fill in my garage. Maybe 15 miles later it showed perfect at the dealership.
At that point I said eff it. It's been noted at the dealership on my car 10 ways to Sunday. They are the only ones doing the oil. If there is Ever a oil level issue we Will All know who did it.

I had to remove one quart of oil and that brought the level to the full mark. Showed dealer pictures of the extra quart and he said that maybe the tech didn't let all the old oil drain out first. Sad excuse
There are a couple threads on this.
I think, Think it's been noted that supposedly their car stats dealer screen they use when servicing says 10 qts.
I've checked oil a million times. I checked mine a few times in my garage.
I was Shocked to see it read right at the dealership.

I'd tell him to relay the message that that 1 little Japanese guy that hand assembled that engine would not be happy to hear that.

This is what I made to quickly take the oil back from engine. Had to use it twice already. Next time I will let shop manager know that they have to check oil 3 times before getting back to me.

I would so ***** slap the service manager with. You know there's 1 single little Japanese guy who's whole job is to hand assemble that engine.
And you all, you're Zero for Three even getting the right amout of oil in it. Oh and please forward that message to All your techs too.
They deserve the shame attempt.

I change mine and with the oil drained 99.9 so that its dripping very slowly if at all, takes 9.1 qts. I put in a full nine qts no guessing, then bring it up to the top mark after its been siting for a bit.
