Any OCDer’s like me?
Every time I detail my car or walk into the garage I just really admire my car. I truly love it and enjoy everything about it! Not sure how many owners of the LC are on this forum, but wondering if you owners are as **** as I am about rock chips or small imperfections that come along with owning any car. It sounds crazy, but at 60 I still feel like a teenager and want to try and keep my car in immaculate condition, as well as driving the crap out of the car and truly enjoying it. I realize many people just consider a car a mode of transportation, but I get so much joy of an absolutely clean and detailed car that I take great pride in. Just wondering if there are other owners out there as loco as I am. Thanks for your responses in advance either way!
I don't care that much about rock chips as those things happen but I'm super **** about my paint being polished to a high degree of detail. I wouldn't want to have a car with a design this nice to not look nice too haha

This is an issue I'm mulling over as well whle I await arrival of my new LC. Do a Google search on the pros and cons of a full PPF, partial PPF, ceramic coating...it will make your head spin. There are solid arguments for doing and not doing...just comes down your own personal preference. Rennlist has a few good threads as well...both for and against. Anticipated length of ownership is a consideration but one I never really thought about. If you go partial (Hood, Fender, Bumper, A-pillar, rocker panels, mirror) there seems to be an issue with ceramic coating a car with only a partial PPF...I need to look more into that. One comment that caught my attention was "100% or nothing due to edges and gaps".
As for the OP's question, my guess is we all here take pride and are OCD in some way or another! My sense is those who appreciate the LC love the engineering and OCD-like attention to detail of the car that most just don't care about. Game recognizes game. haha

I think my friends and family would classify me as extreme-OCD. Lot of preventative maintenance on all of our vehicles, particularly the LC.
Routine wash (clay if needed), paint correct and wax. PPF of course is already done. I even have portable lights to go over the car(s) to look for either paint defects, dents, etc. along with using paint depth gauge when working on the cars.
All in all, the LC is definitely a work of art, but I will still enjoy the drives I have with it, whether if it's cruising and being easy on the throttle, or hitting those downshift blips and enjoying the exhaust note, music for the soul.

The consensus seems to be if you plan to keep the car long term, full PPF/ceramic coating etc. makes a lot of sense. If you tend to keep cars for a short amount of time or are leasing it with no plans to buy it at the end of the lease term, then spending the extra money may not be worth it.
Don't think I have many OCD traits...the GF has enough for both of us. But I will certainly spend the time to keep the LC clean when it arrives. And I am leaning towards a partial or full PPF plus the ceramic as I intend to keep the car long term but also want to reduce the amount of time it takes to give it a nice wash. When I owned a black 911, seems like almost a half day was spent each weekend with "Chemical Guys" products, two bucket wash, etc. keeping that car nice and shiny.
I’m medium level OCD. I did full ppf. It makes any OCD tendencies easier since you don’t have to worry so much about your paint. If a bird takes a crap on the hood, I can just take a wet cloth and wipe it off and even scrub a bit if needed. Same for bugs on the front bumper. Lots of sandy dirty gritty stuff on the roads here, so ppf helps a bunch with protecting from rock chips.
I daily my car so it gets dirty. PPF makes cleaning much quicker and easier. Your coating of choice on top helps too.

I too enjoy admiring the beauty and engineering that goes into these kinds of vehicles, or anything for that matter where engineering/design is involved. I also like keeping all our things in near new condition. My motto - When you take care of it - it takes care of you!
