Seems the Porsche's hood lines flow into the door/body and not the A Pillar, and why transition is seamless. While the LC's flows directly into the A Pillar, and probably why Lexus has its pillars hood color.

I was prepared to dislike it from the title. That was wrong and it’s an improvement.
The car’s shoulder-line styling is really abrupt and jagged; function following form I presume. Blacking that a-pillar out restores some of the shoulder-line, and it de-emphasizes the extreme windscreen rake. I like it.
Yes that’s true. I also know that this is very subjective. I just got this done, and it’s still pouring rain outside. i’ll take the top down and snap some more photos in the sunlight. At least in the garage, it looks great to me. matches the mirror cap + glossy black trim all around the vehicle perfectly.
Agree it's subjective. With the windows tinted, looks menacing👍🏽 This detail on convertibles over the years has gone back and forth (TT, S2000, Boxter, Miata). Hard not to analyze any convertible now after this thread.
My personal opinion is, it would look better if you not do it in piano black but close to the color of you roof material, also wrap the top of the window frame then it might look better than now.
currently you have carnival of colors which makes it look not eye pleasing. As well as everybody already noticed that hood line is not coming to the door panel which makes it look not as good as Porsche. No offense but at first glance it looks like that your car was repaired with new panels and was not painted yet.
see that corvette above, it also has a body shape which allows to have A-Pilar to be different color without visual issues.

Initial thought was to go with matt film. We've placed the strip next to it to see how it would look. And due to all glossy materials around the windshield + upper door trims, it really looked out of place. Sun is back out, so I'll be taking a closer look today, including top down. I've seen many cars with blacked out A-pillars, but IMO, this looks the best when done on a convertible. On my convertible, top usually never closes (I have other vehicles for rainy days). Today will be the true test.
CF lights / tails look perfect, still think the A pillar looks a little weird. Maybe if you wrapped it matte but also had a matte top... or maybe matte blue to match that top. i dont know. it just looks off to me.
This is a very subjective thing. Everyone’s brutally honest opinions are welcome. I like it. You may not.
Sharing what I’ve done based on my taste plus some-what experimental.. Here are some more pics took just now after a how wash. Notice all of the upper trims around the car was also wrapped to match.
Yeah, top down much better. Still that rosed hood line doesn’t align the door edge which makes it look strange, but overall look is good. Keep experimenting
