Default Wrap vs. PPF?

Just looking for opinions. ‘22 Mica coupe, getting the itch to change it up but also thinking might get PPF for the front. So thoughts on killing 2 birds with 1 stone and wrapping it. It’ll be like a new car. I haven’t got estimates but I’m thinking $2k ppf vs. $5k wrap? Also significantly less than trading up, and also I hate the interior (screen placement) of the ‘24s.

Has anyone wrapped their LC? Any examples of cost etc would be appreciated.

PS- hard to describe, but I’m eyeballing a color that is like the original 2018 inspiration metallic blue but it will be frosted matte.

I had mine wrapped. A 21 MICA.

It was worth it, but not cheap!

$7,200.00

I have PPF on my LC - XPEL ultimate (whole front - though was debating doing the whole car at one point), and I've had it on my other vehicles as well, no complaints.

In my experience, PPF has a thicker 'shield' than to that of a car wrap. However, this may have changed, but haven't heard much on it.

What color wrap did you go with? I know there can be a significant cost different based on color and texture.

And are you saying you put a clear bra PPF over the wrap?

Shop that ppf'd my car mentioned new colored ppf. Most wraps are not as protective/self healing as ppf. That said, having to heat film to conform to curves would worry me as that would 'thin out' sections of film and affect color/appear lighter. My guess is $5-7k price range for whole car.

I went with a clear wrap of the entire car.

The "wrap" is the bra as well.

There was a slight upcharge as they had to remove a 1/2 bra the previous owner had done to the hood (why the hell he only did 1/2 is beyond me!).

I also had the wrap ceramic coated.

I had the front bumper replaced and it had a clear bra so when the PPF guys were looking at the car they suggested doing the whole thing.

My '21 was Nightfall Mica:

My new '24 is Ultrasonic Blue:

Both PPF'd. I literally sold the '21 just to switch to the new blue color. It wasn't cheap. If you do a wrap that will be a lot cheaper than how I did it :-)

Haha...that IS one way to do it👍🏽 These colors are pretty challenging to color match, $5-7k PPF investment is worth it vs a body shop charging me $3-4k for mismatching body panels.

congrats! But you literally did what I’m trying to avoid. And again, I personally hate the new 2024 interior haha

That being said, and with the comments in a separate thread about depreciation, I rather just change the color than lose so much on a trade.

So as mention a few posts up…you can PPF over a wrap?? I was not aware that would work.

In my case the wrap is the PPF (clear).

I had my car PPF wrapped immediately after delivery. I had less than 10 miles on the odo when I took it in.
One of the best decisions I made relative to paint protection.
Wrap was ceramic coated after installation as well.
Used Xpel PPF

Did any of you who had PPF done have your paint corrected prior, even if new?

It’s been two years since my wrap and it’s held up exceptionally well. Looks the same as the day I got it. Inozetec wrap really is something else. No edges have peeled or loosen. It protected against a few rock chips already and overall I’m pleased with the result.

would do it again for sure

The color combo of Exterior wrap and burgundy interior is stunning, I wonder how much this type of wrap cost now a days?
