sickpuppy, our oil filters do not help trap the occasional metal fall out that happens in between changes?

 

^^^^I'm sure they do, but this is just cheap insurance IMO

 

Even if it doesn't trap occasional metal fall out, they are handy due to the fact that they tend to stick to the oil pan right after removal.
I have a tendency to drop mine into the bottom of the oil receptacle.
Also, they nearly always have a bunch of very fine, particulate that I can clean off, which is satisfying for some reason probably associated with OCD.

 

Good to know that there is some that gets by the filter, now u got me thinking.
