Default 2024 Order

So I have been intrigued by the LC 500 ever since its launch. I finally feel ready to take the plunge with a 2024 model and was wondering how realistic it is to expect an order with a lightly optioned car to go through.
The dealer I am talking with has said dumping the Touring and Limited slip and subbing in Sport Package might work better. I really don't want the Sport pack except for Limited Slip because I don't really view the LC as a sports car and I prefer the leather seats.
Any feedback from someone that did a recent build like this would be appreciated. Thanks

My ideal build is:
Atomic, Caviar or CB
Roja / Toasted / Black depending on exterior choice.
Touring Package
Heads Up Display
Limited Slip
21" 10 spokes - (Look Great in certain pics unsure in others so may wait to see both as they drift in.)
Total - $102,790.00

My experience in “ordering” my 2023 was Lexus does not let dealers order anything. They make the car and they ship it out. My Dealer had my order for 6 months. After a little (100 hours) research I finally found mine being delivered in Maryland (I live in Alabama). I purchased the 1, and flew to Maryland to get it.

Me personally I went with the Dynamic Package - I love everything about it. I truly love the Alcantara. Extremely comfortable. My son and I drove it home (16 hour trip) and felt comfortable the while way.

The LC is a great luxury grand tourer. The LC is a great sports car. It may not be perfect at either, but it truly is great at both and let’s you drive in luxury/sport at your own pace.

Again, it appears dealers are worthless when it one’s to ordering these thinks. I think they act like they can, but ultimately they just try to trade out with someone who has what you want.

I'm really glad you posted this because it's becoming more and more apparent to me that this is the case. It's mind blowing to me that I have to beg Lexus to sell me a car and the dealer seems completely uninterested in helping partly bc they seem unable to help. I've bought Ferraris, McLarens, Mercedes, every M3 generation, and yet buying a specific order '24 LC has been by far the most difficult despite putting down a deposit and being a current LC owner that raves about how great the Lexus service experience has been.

I ordered a coupe with the Touring package, LSD, and the 10-spoke optional wheels in mid-March. The order was accepted by Lexus Corp 2 days later. The car hit the dock in Long Beach on 7/6 and delivery to the dealer in Phoenix is expected by 8/1. That's about 4 1/2 months total lead time, far better than I expected. I think it's very realistic for your order to go thru, although I was told that the dealerships have a limited allocation for these. The high-volume dealerships probably get higher allocations. That's probably why the dealerships hem and haw as they want to hold onto their limited allocations. I would also order what you want. Because of the allocation issue, the dealers probably desire to maximize the revenue on each order, pushing you to more expensive builds. Maybe the Bespoke builds have lower odds of acceptance or longer lead times, but I had no issue with the touring package build. Get your dealer to place your order. You should hear back daily quickly.

My understanding from the dealers I've spoken to is that Lexus will build what they want and you just hope that they build something that looks like what you specced. So it's possible in your case that your spec was aligned with what Lexus wanted to build and I guess my spec isn't...

That’s great to hear pretty much car I want. I am thinking the order route is much more challenging than finding a dealer that either has a car or one in transit that matches up. I have not seen one even close to those options coming in. I am open to upgrading if I have to just prefer my spec. I think Lexus prefers building higher optioned cars or maybe touring is constrained due to leather possibly.

On another note does anyone know why some of the 2024 cars are showing dynamic handling at $6400.00? If you look at some of the window stickers they show that pricing. I have also seen one with the sport package at $1900.00. Pretty confusing.

Which dealer may I ask?
I ordered an IS350 through Bell Lexus but that was long ago. I won't deal with them anymore though.

I am looking at buying an LC500 in Texas (with dynamic Package) but live in California so would have to fly out to pick it up. It’s about a 28 hour drive / 2,000 miles. I am concerned about engine break-in issues and the like. The Car Care Nut recommends changing oil at 500 miles at break in but I just talked with my independent Toyota mechanic and he said they put special additives in the oil on arrival etc and that I should wait longer than that. In any case, I’d appreciate any insight you can give me on how yours was broken in and other steps you might have taken during that long drive home. Thanks for any input you can provide!

You'll be fine. Just change the oil after you get back to CA.

In your drive home for the first 600 miles try to avoid cruising at a steady speed for more than a couple minutes at a time and avoid extended pedal to the floor moments. After that drive it however you want.

Why not just have the car shipped to you. 2000miles is a lot of road hazard for a brand new LC500.
But for some reason you have to pick it up and do the 2000miles back home, you can always make a pit stop at a Lexus dealership and do the oil change.

Have you considered having the car shipped out to you? Avoiding steady rpms on that long drive may be quite challenging.

The key for break-in is to vary your rpm's every 4-5 minutes and not stay at any one rpm for extended periods. The first 200 miles are critical and I would keep max rpm below 3500 for first 100 and 4000 for second 100. No rapid acceleration or hard braking. Total recommended break-in is 600 miles, and I stayed below 5000 rpm and varied the rpm up to this point. I did not redline until after 1000 miles. You may just want to drive around town for the first 100 as it will be easier to manage rpm's. I used manual shifting thru the entire break-in to more easily manage rpm's. Also downshifting and using engine braking is beneficial for break-in. With the 10 speed though, it is fairly easy to vary rpm' s even on freeways. Again with manual shifting. I did my first oil change at 1000 miles and went with synthetic. I would ask the Texas dealership about the advisability of going 2000 for the first oil change.

I bought mine in Lincoln Nebraska, I'm in Arizona. A friend and I flew to Omaha and the dealer picked us up at the airport. We drove home after pickup. Took us 26 hours. Changed the oil shortly thereafter.

I would go with the enclosed transport route. Might cost a little more but you won't put the wear and tear on your new LC with the drive. This is the thread where I got my enclosed transport from
